Beaches ~ Turks & Caicos Roll Call!

Recommended Posts

Hi Jacquelyn! I was married at Beaches T&C in May and the majority of our guests stayed in the French Village. It is very nice there and clean updated pretty rooms but it's the furthest from the beach. It had a very big pool that always has something going on and it's close to the water park and some of the restaurants. The French Village was the cheapest when we were booking that's why most stayed there. honestly stay in any room you want because you will travel all over the resort during your stay and find your fav spots quickly. We stayed in the Caribbean Village and would stay there again in a heartbeat. It's the closest to everything and right by the beach. The Italian VIllage was the most recent of the villages to be built and was beautiful but very expensive. Let me know if you have any other questions!!

How does everyone feel about the French Village??

Amber where did you order your bouquet from?? Post pics when you can!! And I wouldn't worry about OOT bags for the guests that aren't staying on the resort. My guests loved the bags and some used alot of the things while they were there and some used none of the stuff LOL all depends on what you are going to put in them.

Yes I will definitely post about it on Saturday.  I don't think I have many questions, but will share how it goes. I know I'm going to ask about the day passes.  I've heard they are different times like a day pass and then a night pass. I probably ask about prices as I want to bring our own stuff for the sand ceremony.   My TA was really helpful, so I don't have many more questions.   I'm excited though! I'n sorta just washing my hands of it if people want to book at another resort. It sucks, I won't get the number of rooms booked for free stuff.  I'm just happy they are trying to make it down.  I probably won't make them an OOT bag since I don't know when I will see them.  If it's on the wedding day only, I won't be thinking about getting them a bag.   I've been watching Bridezillas and am very happy that I am not that kind of person.   I ordered my bouquet and am anxiously waiting for that to come in.  Should be here early August.  I know I have over a year, but I decided to knock as much out as possible.  If I love my bouquet, I'm going to order the rest of the parties flowers.  I'll keep you posted on that as well.

Welcome and congrats on your engagement and upcoming wedding. There are many ladies on BW who are using TA's that are here on the boards I believe it's tammy who sent the welcome message when you first join BW who is in fact a TA.  I also, contacted the resort directly and they sent me an email.  You can actually chat with the resort directly online too.  Happy planning!!!

Thanks everyone for your responses! I do have a few other questions. My conference call is with Roxi next Tuesday. Is she good or should I request another planner?? I have no problem doing that! hahaha

We are getting married Jan 26th, 2013

Estimated guests in our party 75

Staying in the French Village

1. How does everyone feel about the DJ vs. calypso band and steel drum band?

2.Did any do the large rehearsal dinner on the beach??

3.Veil? yes or no? I have heard that it is very windy there?

4.For my large party, what location do people suggest for reception venue?

5.This make up and hair girl everyone is talking about "Shenque", does she come to the resort? Do we go to her? Prices etc?

6.Also my best friend is a photographer and will be doing our pictures. Any suggestions on how to go about this?? Some people say you need to pay a fee. I have her staying at the resort for four nights in her own room.

7.Food....has anyone done anything other than the preplanned menu, I'm not crazy about everything on it! Can they offer entrees like lobster, fish, filet?

Thanks everyone!

For those interested in Videography......

I am debating using beaches videographer and wedit.com. For those that have used the beaches videographer, what did you think?? Where you inpressed? How did the videos turn out. I would love to see some if at all possible.

For those who don't know what wedit.com is:

$25 down deposit

$200 for the week of cameras

$200-$400 for editting of video

They give five flip cams for the week of your wedding. All your friends and family take the footage. You send the cameras back and they edit a video for you to music! Pretty cool deal...just not sure about the high quality, but the price is amazing woot.gif... Let me know what you guys think!!

Jacquelynk- I had my conference call with Roxi yesterday and she was amazing! It lasted about an hour and a half because I asked a ton of questions and she ha lots of answers. As we were speaking, she emailed me some things to review so I was able to ask even more questions! I am taking my own photographer as well and there's no fee as long as they're a guest with your bridal party. You will just have a harder time bringing in local vendors I think. I am going to have the calypso band for the ceremony and cocktail hour. After my call with Roxi I am excited!!

Hello all brides and brides to be!.  Just wondering if anyone has held their ceremony/reception on a Friday??  Also, has anyone attended the Friday Beach BBQ?? Would that be something to incorporate into our reception?  I was thinking of possibly having a semi private area by the beach bbq..but not sure??

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
