Beaches ~ Turks & Caicos Roll Call!

Recommended Posts

Yes I will definitely post about it on Saturday.  I don't think I have many questions, but will share how it goes. I know I'm going to ask about the day passes.  I've heard they are different times like a day pass and then a night pass. I probably ask about prices as I want to bring our own stuff for the sand ceremony.   My TA was really helpful, so I don't have many more questions.   I'm excited though!

I'n sorta just washing my hands of it if people want to book at another resort. It sucks, I won't get the number of rooms booked for free stuff.  I'm just happy they are trying to make it down.  I probably won't make them an OOT bag since I don't know when I will see them.  If it's on the wedding day only, I won't be thinking about getting them a bag.

I've been watching Bridezillas and am very happy that I am not that kind of person.

I ordered my bouquet and am anxiously waiting for that to come in.  Should be here early August.  I know I have over a year, but I decided to knock as much out as possible.  If I love my bouquet, I'm going to order the rest of the parties flowers.  I'll keep you posted on that as well.

Ok ladies, just had my first planning session with Roxi.  She was really nice and explained the process of pretty much how everything goes.  Our conversation was about 30 minutes and no pressure at all to add stuff. We talked about the documents needed and she explained that they can't be notarized until 90 days before your wedding, but they need to be mailed within 60 days.  So that gives us a month to get them notarized and mailed off with no late fees. That was good to know as the 90 days was new to me.

She also let me know my options for add ons etc and how things would go for ceremony and reception.  I did let her know we wanted the beach ceremony location with the BB theme.  I did ask about the sand ceremony and bringing my own container.  It's a $50 set up fee to bring our own and it' recommended to bring your sand so you get the exact colors you want.

My wedding day is a Sunday so my times are extremely limited.  I'm having a 10am wedding with a lunch/brunch reception after.  Sundays are the only days where things end early and no late afternoon options are available.  I really like only having a few options and picking from that.

Roxi pretty much covered all my questions in her spiel. It was a nice laid back conversation since I still have over a year until our wedding.

I'm all giddy again!

I have always wanted to get married on this island and reading through this thread we have finally decided on this location.  Since we are just starting in this whole process I wanted to know when do you get a price list of all the items?  I tried to look online but the prices are not specific and its for Jamaica not TC.

Amber,

Great to hear it! Did you ask what they have to "set-up" for the sand ceremony? See, I'm an inquisitive person by nature and profession so I question everything! I will ask and discuss that with her as I would really like to know. I just checked my calendar and realized that my own call with Roxi is this coming Friday!  I need to get my stuff together and be ready for her!

It's literally to take my own vase and sand and set it up.  I think it's really stupid as I could have someone set it up for me. I also asked about other set up fees and she wanted to know what exactly I wanted to set up.  I said oh I don't know yet, but curious if it was dependent upon that.  Roxi told me the set up fee is dependent on what is being set up.  I've heard from past brides to not say anything to the WC about your own stuff to set up then just let the onsite WC know.  You can usually get those fees waived.  However, the sand ceremony is not a waived fee for set up.

Emagana~ Do you have a TA?  When I booked my room through my TA, he sent me a price list.

Hi All - just wanted to introduce myself...newly engaged and as of now - new member of BDW!.  Got engaged in May 2012 in Grand Turk (one of our ports on a cruise).  It was so beautiful and I've heard nothing but good things about T&C as well as Beaches that we are very much leaning toward a DW at Beaches Turks & Caicos.  Unfortunately i don't really know where to begin. Should I contact a TA first or should I request a phone call from the staff at Beaches (i've already requested a brochure from them)? I don't have a TA that i use regularly so any pointers in that department would be much appreciated.

Thanks!!

Hi and congrats!  I would start with a  TA.  There are some on this site and others that people have posted.

I've noticed some charge and some don't, but mine does not charge any additional fee.  They can also help you figure out which resort fits you better for what you want.  Personally I would start there.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
