Recommended Posts

Lizzdee,

Congratulations!  You looked beautiful!  Thanks for all of the feedback - I'm have the extact same set up as you did - 30 guests, 3 hour reception, 4 p.m. wedding.  Thanks also about mentioning the spa letting you swap the mani/pedi for another service.  I have this service booked - but since I do gel nails, I won't need it.  Can't wait to see your photos on facebook!

I also wanted to say something about out OTT bags-----

We got nice big beach bags, which everyone used! They were a big hit...as far as what was in them, I did do a Wedding Weekend Survival Kit, the hits were definitly Tums, Gold Bond, and Sunscreen...Do not even bother with Aloe, Shampoo, Conditioner, or Lotion, as each room comes with a nice size bottle of these....

We also did Essie Turquoise and Caicos Nail polish, with a nail file, nail clipper, and nail polish remover pad....Everyone loved these!! Yes, the polish is pricey (got mine on amazon) but they were a huge hit!!! Everyone had turquoise nails on the wedding day, it was a super fun, cute favor!

And lastly in the bags we put bags of mixed chocolate candy, and snacks, like goldfish, granola bars, trail mix, and cookies, which everyone was snacking on.....Since there is no room service is was great to have some snacks in the room, and people were also bringing them down to the beach to snack on.

Oh, and also in the kids bags i put beach toys that i found at the dollar store, this was a huge hit for my almost 3 yr old nephew,

We didnt go nuts with the bags, nothing personalized, no koozies or pens and paper, no room key holders ect..and everyone loved them! So I just wanted to let you guys know sometimes less is more, my guests loved the bags, were super grateful :) Let me know if you have any qustions, I'd love to help.

Hi!

We also  go back on a week ago.  My experience was little different than Lizzdee.  We eloped with my 8 year old son.

We also stayed in the CV.  We were in the Caicos room on the 3rd floor.  We had a small view of the ocean.  It was perfect for us.

I agree that you do no need to spend the money on the room.  We were never in it.  This resort was perfect for all of us.

My son loved going to the camp and we were able to have some alone time as well as family time.

Ivette was our planner at the resort.  She was great.  We were were married on the beach.  My son gave me away, he was also

the ring bearer and best man.  He was awesome.

I had my hair and makeup done by Shenque Perfections and loved it.  She is very nice and quick.

Our pastor was also great.  He was both serious and funny.  The script was not religious at all.  We did a sand ceremony to make sure my son was included.  I brought my own script.  The one they have does not include a child.

We did not have a reception, only the 1/2 hr cocktail hour.  This was plenty for us.  We did have dinner at Schooners that night.  Personally

I like Barefoot by the Sea better.

Since we eloped, I did get the small package of prints and the video.  Bond was our photographer.  Surprisingly they came out good.

I also hired Ileana from TI.  I loved going around the island for the photographs.

We loved everything about our wedding and trip.  We are hoping to go back next year.

Here are some pictures from the resort.

Melissa43,

You look beautiful!  It sounds like you had a great time too :)

Thanks for sharing about your wedding.  I have to say I've been obsessed with Barefoot By the Sea since I ran across it on the Beaches T&C site, and your confirmation helps me make some easy choices :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
