**ALL PAST BRIDES**

I need some help/advice. I had recently emailed a picture to Dexter & Roxy showing them an archway I liked and asking for a quote. The archway was a plain bamboo arch with hot pink and orange sheer sheets hanging on it. Dexter emailed me back stating that the resort would not be able to source the material but that I could purchase it and bring it myself. I emailed him back asking if I could have the measurements and what not. He just emailed me about two months later quoting me a price of $1950 for a bamboo arch with pink and orange sheer sheets. Now they apparently can source the material however I already planned on getting it myself. So I emailed him back asking how much it would be just for the archway and if I could have my mother just hang the sheets on it. He told me the archway would be $250 and that they would assist with decorating to make sure my day is perfect. BUT they want to charge me $500 to hang two sheets from an archway. I was wondering if any of you past brides went through something similar and if it against their policy to have a family member do this or if they just try to talk to you out of it. Thanks for all your help =]

Wow that seems a tad nuts to charge someone $500 to assist with hanging. I believe I have seen other brides state that they were going to be charged for something that they wanted to do on their own like set up reception tables. In the end what some of the ladies have done is just had someone go out there a few minutes before do it themselves and have not been charged. Did he ever give you the dimensions?  I was thinking of doing the same thing, go and purchase the sheets and just ask a couple of my taller guest to put them bad boys up there.

Hey Ladies,

I am needing help with a few things. A couple questions for the former brides! How many songs did you have for the ceremony? For those that brought their own sand ceremony set, where did you get it and how did you keep the sand in place on the plane ride home? Thanks for the replies and responses in advance!

Hello Beaches Brides!!!

I am sitting here with my wedding budget and spreadsheet of all the expenses in front of me and starting to freak out! LOL

I have a quick question for past brides...I am going with the "free" wedding with the Beautiful Beginnings package...I know I have seen that a few of you have just had your "reception" at one of the restaurants and didn't have to pay extra since they are all inclusive....My question is, have any of you had around 20-25 people doing this? We are looking like 20 max, but to be on the safe side I want to say 25....I want to see if anyone thinks this will be an issue to have the whole party together at one of the restaurants...and ANY advice you can give would be excellent!!! We are trying to save some money and figuring since it's an all inclusive this would be the best place to start....

Also in regards to the "cocktail reception" I know you have to pay extra per head over the 4 people included in the BB package for this...and I have seen some say that the 30 mins only include the waiters walking around...so does that mean you can definitely stay in that area for a longer period of time? And if so, how long did you stay before going to a dinner at one of the restaurants, or your reception?

Thank you for ANY advice you can give!!! I have 4 months...and the stress is starting to kick in!

:) ~Jess

Hey,

we had one song for bride walking down, for signing registrar, one recessional and first dance song. If you do sand ceremony, it will be another song and if you have bridal party you can have them walk down to another song too. Cheers!

Jess

I do know that it shouldnt be an issue with your guest count, we had a welcome dinner at Marios (the italian rest.) and I had 22 guests and they were able to accomadate us perfectly, I actually orginally wanted to have it outside which they were also fine with but it was really humid that day so they moved us inside with no issues at all!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
