Beaches ~ Turks & Caicos Roll Call!

Recommended Posts

Wendy not sure if your wanting to bring your own sand ceremony but they provide one for I belive around $150 or so and they pack it up for you really well and you can place it in your suitcase.  I believe if you bring your own they charge you a set up fee as well.

Jill, we didnt pick any of our locations until we got to the resort, but if there is a specific area you want I would recommend booking it ahead of time to get the spot you want, Im sure they can recommend which areas are best for your size of party,  with the private receptions they will only let you push it back to I believe 6:00, but if you have a dinner somewhere you could probably push it back further.

There are so many choices :)

I was wondering if anyone did the private Katt Cruise catarmaran party cruise instead of the formal reception. The description says it includes 2 hours of entertainment, open bar, and catering.  By the time I add all of these elements, it ends up being a pretty good deal.  Especially since I have an 11 AM ceremony.

Also, is anyone else a scuba diver?  I was wondering what people thought of the diving :)

Thanks!!!

We had 25 people in our party.  We debated doing the private Katt Cruise but then didn't want to spend the $$.  HOWEVER, we had several of our guests express an interested in the Beaches Snorkeling Boat trip (which is free for guests), however, they could not accomodate our whole party on one of their regular daily trips  -- they offered to privately charter one for us in the bigger boat "after hours".  It was AWESOME!  I think they charged like $25 a person.  It was just us and our 25 guests and they took us out to the reef and we snorkeled for 1 hour (they provided bottled water, but no other refreshments) and then they returned us to Beaches. I believe we went at like 4:30 or 5pm (I forget exactly) and saw TONS of beautiful fish.  They don't advertise it, but if you ask at the Snorkeling Office, they may be willing to do this.  Just a thought if you have a bunch of people interested and don't want to spend the $$$$ for the Katt Cruise.  Our guests ranged in age from 4-73 and everyone snorkeled and loved it!  In fact, we had a few guests tell us that was one of the highlights of their trip.

... just a thought!

Just curious how much did you / are you paying for airfare to T & C?   I am flying from Kansas City and there are no direct flights.  The cheapest (ha it's not cheap)  I have found is $670 round trip.  I wonder if I should wait to see if the price drops or book it now.  US Air already increased their prices from $638 from a month or so ago.

I'd like to hear if this is a good price or not.

Thx

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
