Beaches ~ Turks & Caicos Roll Call!

Recommended Posts

Thank you Melissa, yes feel free to request. Maybe someday I will load them all on here! Yes the arch used to be 650.00 when I booked it. Then another bride on here said that it had gone down so I called and they reduced it to the 350.00 price. Goes to show you, for SURE keep checking with them for "specials" I booked everything ahead of time except the band and pictures. I also had no idea until Brandy mentioned it that I could give my guest a choice on dinner if we had over 17 people.. which worked out GREAT because I had several people wanting chicken and several wanting beef. I just got the regular DVD they filmed the ceremony.. cake cutting and first dance. They did have me do the first dance early so they could film and go, which was kind of awkward because we had not even really started the reception, it was kind of a "posed" first dance and that was the only one we did.

YES, Carole is right, keep checking on pricing and any updates, ask for any new sales kits, our package ended up being reduced right before we left so we got it for the new price and they also had added 12 free photos and a free DVD to our package which we also got, also literally like a week before we were leaving!

Hi Melissa,

We found my husband's pants at JC Penney's and his shirt at Tommy Bahama.  We purchased his pants at JC Penneys, and they were not expensive (maybe $30 or $35..and they always have sales there, too), but we got his shirt from Tommy Bahama, and it was kind of expensive...but we went to the outlet store, and we figured that since it's for our wedding we'd spend a little more thna usual.  You may want to check-out those places if they have stores located near you...hope that helps!! :-)

Brandy,

Did you ever get your DVD?  How did it come out?

I live in NJ and we have a bunch of the 'outlet shops' by us...The Perry Ellis outlet has beautiful suits/seperates at amazing prices. If you have one by you go check it out, i saw a light-weight biege suit that would be perfect for a DW, just gotta get FI over there to try it on!!! They also have very nice/ classy resort wear for men!!

Has anyone else been looking at room rates lately??? They have gone up about $150 since we booked in Jan....yuck. Thank god i hounded certain people to book early, even before invites went out. The only plus is airfare to Turks from NJ has gone down about $150, so i guess it all equals out....ugh....I am really trying not to even worry about it...People will be there if they want to be there.

I talked to my WC last night, everything went well..She is ready to rock and roll...wants us to fill out paperwork and start getting all that stuff together, i just need FI to get his new NJ drivers license and we will be ready to begin. I am sticking with the BB package, we want to get married at one of the gazebos, and the 2 hour private receptin and i will just add on certain things like flowers for all the tables and the band.

She is sending me over menu options to start looking at....QUESTION FOR THE MARRIED GIRLS----What 2 menu items did you pick for the main dinner?? I know you all have said everyting was amazing, but i just wanted some more opinions...Our group is full of 'foodies', so i just want to make sure we pick some awesome dishes!! Thanks in advance!

Lizzdee - We had the tenderloin and chicken. ALL 25 of our guests picked the tenderloin - it was WONDERFUL.  In fact, several guests told us it was the best they ever had - it melted in your mouth.  We never got to try the chicken or hear how that was since no one ordered it.

EVERYTHING they made was wonderful.  We had the 1 cocktail hour prior to our reception and told the chef to chose what he wanted to make.  It was fabulous!  Jalepeno poppers, little egg rolls, steamed shrimp, cheese, fruit, sushi, etc.  Our guests raved about that as well.

For our welcome dinner we had the steak -- it was tasty as well.  The only thing we had that weren't impressed with was the tropical fruit torte (I think that's what it was called) and we (nor our guests) cared much for that.  I honestly don't think you'll be disappointed with any meal selection you chose.  We opted not to have the mahi mahi because some of our guests weren't big fish eaters.  But I'm sure that is very good as well!!!!

Lizz, we chose the tenderloin and the chicken, everyone loved both of them, I ordered the chicken and it was delicious, it is jerk chicken though, so its a little on the spicy side but it was so good and juicy and tender just like the tenderloin all of our guests said the tenderloin was delicious as well.

For our app we chose the crab cake w/ spicy fruit salsa and that was delicious!!  We chose the salad and it was the fruit salad with champagne vinagarette and it was really good too, and for the dessert, which was ridiculously amazing we chose the lovers baked pineapple alaska, omg everytime I think about that dessert my mouth waters LOL!!!!  I really dont think you can go wrong with what you choose Im sure it all is very good!

Lizzdee-

You are absolutely right...whoever wants to bet there (and can generally afford it) will be there!  Don't stress out too much about it!  My husband has two bothers, but only one came to our wedding, and my dad and stepmom were not able to make it.  But I understood in the beginnning that it was expensive, and everyone who went had a great time, and those who couldn't be there LOVED all of our photos!  Please don't stress..you will have a BLAST!!  :-)

I have been pretty good about not stressing out....but quitting smoking, moving, unpacking, dealing with the cable people, work, dieting all in one week can definitly send a girl over the edge!!! Deep breaths, the patch, werthers original candies, my dog, my FI (when he isnt getting the wrath of Liz not smoking) a good book, the beach, are gonna get me through this...lol!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
