Beaches ~ Turks & Caicos Roll Call!

Recommended Posts

Lurker -- coming out of hiding.  I'm Jill.  My boyfriend and I are considering a destination wedding with my children and a smallish number of kids - second wedding for me. This is one of the resorts & islands we are considering.  All your comments are very helpdul.

LizzDee is the reason I came out of hiding. I see Point Pleasant on your invites - I live less than a mile from the TravelSmiths on 88.  I have another friend using them for her destination wedding in the Dominican Republic - she has been pleased.  How has your experience been?

This if for all the Brides getting married in 2012.  I contacted Beaches to find out what is considered a premium room to get the free ceremony if you book 6 nights or more.  They said this is for travel dates until Dec 31 2011.  After this date it is the concierge level room.  Is this true?

I would think they would honor this promotion this far out.  I am hoping to put a deposit this weekend.  I am aiming for Jan 18 2012.

We have one limo driver on island that I know about but I don't think we have any private car services like you are thinking of (our taxi drivers are a very powerful lobby on island and are very quick to squash any competition).  Also it's a maximum 10 minute drive from the airport to Grace Bay (15 minutes if there is traffic LOL)   so you wouldn't even have time to open the champagne before you get there.  There will be air conditioned vans waiting for you at the airport (that's what all of the taxis are).  You may want to use the $$ for a nice spa treatment or something else special once you arrive.

Thanks, Krys!  I agree- if it's only a 10-15 minute ride, then it wouldn't be worth it.  I forgot how close the resort is to the airport!

Hi Lizzdee,

I don't mean to be a pain but do you by any chance have this is writing.  I asked my TA to work some magic since going direct through Beaches would not extend the "promo".

I hope this isn't true as well, because I already booked our wedding/honeymoon and we are staying in a Premium category room to get the "free" wedding...My WC from Beaches is calling me next Monday and this will be one of the FIRST questions I ask her. As soon as I hear something I will be on here to update you ladies!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
