Beaches ~ Turks & Caicos Roll Call!

Recommended Posts

This sight has helped SO much! :)

Any suggestions about which photo package to chose through Beaches? Do you have to decide right away or can I wait until I get there? I want video and obviously a few of the ceremony. I am going with Tropicall Imaging a few days after our wedding, and my Aunt will also be taking pictures...

Hi,

I've lived here 15 years and can't ever remember a time going on the beach that the sand was too hot.  My kids and their friends will always do lots of playing in the sand as well and we just don't have that problem here.  The sand is very very white, so it reflects vs absorbs heat.  You should be fine going barefoot!

Hope that helps

Krys - if you are around I have a question for you.

We are doing OOT bags and I wanted to include cigars for the men, but I don't want to travel with them and would prefer to buy them once on the island (I actually don't even know if I could bring them from the states if  wanted to? Not sure how customs works with that stuff). Is there anywhere either at the resort (Beaches) or close to the resort , where I'd be able to buy a few cigars?

Thanks in advance!

Hockeymom,

Krys can definitely answer this better, but I found this awhile ago on the TCI Tourism website.

CUSTOMS
Duty free goods that may be brought in to the Islands include: 50 cigars, 200 cigarettes, 1.136 liters of spirits or wine and perfume for personal use.

There are no restrictions for travelers on the import of cameras, film or sports equipment, except spear guns and Hawaiian slings.

To bring in firearms of any type (including spear guns and Hawaiian slings), you must have written approval from the Commissioner of Police. Controlled drugs and pornography are illegal.

Question for my fellow brides, and Krys!

My wedding is at 11am on 5/21, and we're having a 1 hour cocktail reception afterwards.  I am thinking about bringing a small white dress for the reception to avoid getting too hot in my wedding dress.  Is anyone else bringing a "reception dress"?  Will it get THAT hot, considering it's an island and I am sure there's a constant breeze??  I know the temps are typically in the mid to upper 80's in May in T&C, but I live in Florida and it's always humid in the summer and I cannot imagine wearing a wedding dress in the heat for more than 30-45 minutes.

Comments??  Suggestions??  Thanks!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
