Brandy,

About the location....I know Beaches does alot of weddings a day, so what happens if we wait to choose a location for dinner until we get there and all the good sites are gone??? Do you think they do that many upgraded dinners a day as they do weddings? This will give me anxiety than the flowers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im not sure about flowers sad.gif  I really want fresh so I might bring a silk hydrangea with me and wire and tape all the individual orchids form the beautiful begin boquet and put them over the silk hyd. to make a round boquet. This would hide the silk hyd. I am a floral designer and my boss is def coming so it might sound like a lotta work, but we could have it done in 10 min, Or, I might do the broach boquet (pics posted in the flowers forum). We just had a photag use it in a photoshoot the other day so I will post prof pics of the finished product when i get them. Or, i might spluge, it will break my little floral designer heart, and buy one of the MS boquets. This kills me!! See, at my job we only do high end weddings. The only thing i have ever thought about when it comes to my wedding is what boquet i would carry, So bummed i dont have the selection i have here, but i guess the location makes up for it!!!!!!

Also, talked with FH today and we are thinking about doing March 2010 now, but not sure! We are going to move back to NJ in May, so this gives us a few extra months to save since we wil be spending money on the move. We aren't sure yet though!!! We are pretty casual, and aren't in a huge rush, so we will see what happens. Also Jan temp 80...March temp 82....those two extra degrees make me happy!!! Don't think i am going anywhere though...I am now a BDW girl for life!!!

PS...I hit 150 posts on Monday and still nothing...it's driving me bananas!!!!

Hey and about the welcome dinner......how many guests are you having??? We are looking at 20+, and if they wont do a reservation the night of the wedding for this many people, will they do it a few nights b4 for a welcome dinner? What are you planning on doing???

Maybe welcome cocktails is a good idea since you dont have to reserve space at the bar !

January 10th- 2011 Super Excited- very disappointed about no outside photographers or videoagrapher and no portfloios of their own- bad customer service in that area... we will get it around it though and my fiance, eleven year old and will have an amazing time anyway!  Less than two months away...

Welcome kimberlyg! I think we all understand about the photographers that they have. A few of us have booked Tropical Imaging to do our photos off-site, after the wedding.

Brandy sent me this link last week I believe. Check it out...this is some of their work. http://www.brilliant.tc/2010/10/wedding-stacey-michael-beaches-resort/

Misti- I do believe they are still getting married there

Lizz- You crack me up, some things you just cant worry about Id go crazy if I thought about all that stuff I think thats why most of us chose beaches bc it didnt leave much planning/decision making up to us lol, heres my thinking I could be wrong though lol, so if a wedding is at 11, then you have your reception well that max reception is what 2 hours or 3 hours right so they have to be gone buy 2, (and not too many people choose to have the long reception, and most people choose to have them in a resturaunt bc it doesnt cost anything) so Im just thinking the chance of someone being where you want as well is kind of slim, and I believe there are many more locations then just those 3 I posted so I wouldnt worry about it too much, and each location holds a certain amount of people too, like the jacuzzi deck looks like it will hold only so many tables, I think youll be fine I do see someone having a reception at the same time and same place, have you booked your date?? There are only 6 time slots so at most only 6 weddings can go on in one day, hope all this makes you feel better.

As far as the welcome dinner goes, we will probably be having about 20 people attending our wedding, and I believe (I'll have to check my paper work) if you book 10 rooms then you get a free private rehearsal dinner.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
