I got the info from my workout partner today.  She said you need to go to The Goldsmith in the Regent Plaza (across from the Salt Mills).  She said sometimes Royal Jewels has better deals but they are often out of stock and you would have to go downtown, which isn't touristy, fun or worth the cab ride.

She said to tell them Anna sent you (some people she knows have gotten discounts on occasion, not much but it all helps).

Her opinion (from her hubby) Get either the No 5 monte cristo or the No 4 monte cristo.  The number 4 is a medium size, the number 5 is a smaller size.  She said do not buy no 3.  They are more expensive (thus will be suggested by the goldsmith) and her hubby thinks they dry out too quickly and are not as nice.  So don't get the No 3!

Hope that helps!

Krys

Thank you so much for the info Krys! And I will stay away from the #3. :)

We are lookin to have about 25-ish, i think...we will see if the people who say they are coming actually come though :) I heard awhile ago, like last year, that is you had 20 people for the sit down dinner that they would then let your guests have a choice meal...this could have changes though, so double check on it for sure..

What's the "certain amount of people? "that would allow you to have them choose their own meal? I don't want to have to puck for anyone either! Also kids are half price

FYI to all, make sure your guests book early if they are serious about coming to your wedding... just $400 deposit to hold the room.... don't let what happened to me happen to you.... I sent out my invitations 5 mos prior only to find out the hotel is fully booked for the weekend of my wedding...my guests were turned away... we have 17 going now including us.... there are places to stay other than Beaches nearby, but then Beaches kills you on wedding day passes...ridiculous!

btw...

I mentioned earlier a possibility of using local island flowers for bouquets, or flower girl toss petals, here is the pricing they gave me;

Bridal Bouquet with Bougainvillea @ $96 ea
Bag of Floral Petals (Bougainvillea) @ $40 ea (rose petals cost $65)

The only color they have available is pink.

I am a little surprised, I feel like that is price gouging considering it's likely 100% profit since it grows everywhere... ahhhh decisions decisions!

I honestly dont think these prices are that bad. I am a floral designer in South Jersey, and none of our brides boquets are under $100!!! You gotta remember there is labor involved, and cost of supplies..  I do think a bouqet of bouganvilliea would be very pretty, if your okay with pink. Hope that makes you feel a little better :)

Hello

Misti can you please tell which location was the gazebo your had the ceremony? Or any of the past brides can answer this question please

I'm pretty much not getting info or answer from Monica and when I do she seem to rush me or trying to sale something to me.  I told her we sticking with the BB package and any other things we may want, we will decide once we arrive.

Lizzdee my wedding is on July 9, 2011 at 4pm.  I know how you feel because most of my guests ( including my maid of honor) not going to make it because the resort, affordable rooms, are sold. So there only going to be us, my son, mom, aunt and godmother...done of my fiancee family going to make it too.  Its expected when having a destination wedding, I guess.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
