Hi everyone! I just had my wedding here and it was absolutely amazing. I had a private 2 hour dinner with an extended hour bar and DJ. I'd be happy to answer any questions. Happy planning!400[/img]
Hi pam Congrats to you! You looked beautiful! Which wedding package did you choose and ceremony location? What music did you use for coming down the aisle a recording? Did the dj give you a list of music to choose from? Where did you have your private dinner reception? Did you use beaches photographers or one of the new partners? I see you all had parasols. Did you use bouquets at all? Sorry for million questions probably have a million more.

I will be getting married there May, 30th 2014! Any helpful hints? I want to hire a videographer and photographer that is not associated with Beaches, does anyone know what the fee would be to bring in someone from the outside? What about the Beaches DJ? Are they good? Would love any helpful information about the wedding in general!

Beaches does not allow outside vendors not associated with them..until recently they didn't have photographers not associated with them at all. They now have a select few thst you can choose from listed on their website.. pa st brides on the thread who brought their own photographers have paid for the photographers as guest of their wedding minimum of 3nights I believe. You should go through the thread. Are you booked already?

Hey there, the fee to bring an outside vendor onto the property is $75 for a day pass the day of the wedding. You have to tell them who the vendor is and they put it on a list.  I paid to bring Shenique on property for hair and makeup. The DJ we had for the wedding was fantastic! They send you this form and you can list everything you want or don't want played. There are very specific questions to narrow down your choices and we had no issues. For walking down the aisle, we just had the standard wedding march played and it was actually another DJ that set up and played the music so it wasn't coming from a little speaker. We had 80 guests so it was appropriate. We also chose our recessional song, which was "Champagne Life" by Ne-Yo and it was really fun.

You asked about alcohol being included in a 3 hour reception, and yes. Alcohol is included in everything! The bar is set up during cocktail hour and the guests are able to order whatever they like. There was soooooo much food during the course of the reception and it was all tasty! We had guests stay off the resort who came on for the day and they were thoroughly pleased.

I hope I answered all of your questions!

Hey Kisha, I know you took your own photographer. Did you pay the $75 for this as well or did you pay for them as a guest? Also, how was shenique with hair and make-up were you happy? Did she do your bridal party as well? Thanks for the dj info very helpful.

We flew our photographer down, so he and his assistant stayed at the resort as a part of our wedding party. We simply told the resort we had our own photographer and didn't need Beaches. Shenique was pretty good. She did my hair according to the picture I showed. The makeup was alright to me, I'm not a makeup person and I didn't really specify the look I was going for so it fell short for me. I did a boudoir shoot a couple of months ago and really loved my makeup for that so I had the same expectations. I know she had other brides to do that day so she wasn't very chatty but that could just be her business demeanor. She only did me and my mom that day.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
