Thanks for the info. I am tinking about the 3 hours sit down dinner. But not sure yet! Will it cost a lot to have the Seaside serenade for all the group? I am thinking about te Island Paradise theme! Not sure yet. Do you choose your menu on site?

My cousin and his wife brought all the weddings decorations from Canada and yes it was a burden that I truely don't want to go through.

thanks again for the info.

Day passes are:

10am – 6 pm $200 per adult, $130 per child.

6 pm – 11 pm $220 per adult, $130 per child.

I wonder if the information has changed as the rates I have were from the summer.

Amber,

Those prices are correct but Roxi said that they are the price for people coming to the resort on days other than the wedding. So there's a slight price reduction for the wedding day and then the price goes up after that. Basically I think I'm going to have the people staying off the resort pay the $75 fee and we pay the $75 reception fee per person. This way it evens out.

Blakdeevah,

Yes, the Seaside Serenade will go for all of the tables we will use for the reception. Like I said, don't want the added stress of taking the decor with us in addition to everything else. We will make the food selections when we get there because we will get to do a food tasting when we arrive. I believe you can tell them what you think you'll want before you arrive and then do a tasting to make sure that's what you want.

Glad I could help!

@Kisha311  But how the the theme price works with the sit down reception dinner? I see all these different prices for the themes but do you pay a price for the theme on all the table plus the sit down dinner per peeple? I just don't understand why we seem to have to pay for theme fee if we having sit down dinner reception. Can you please explain to me if you ave all the details.

thanks

Thanks Kisha.  That makes sense.

Blakdeevah~ Beaches used to have the whole table set up for a specified amount of money.  The bb is still listed as $100 per table and the seaside one was $500. It looks like now it's a la carte.  Now you can pick and choose what you want and interchange everything.  I believe just the centerpiece from seaside is $225 and that's probably per table.  Have you looked at all the options here:

http://beaches.com/weddingmoons/weddings/wedding-catalog/

The sit down reception dinner is another separate fee as you get a more private space (as opposed to a restaurant) usually a wait staff and a bartender.

Does that help?

I also have Ileana's new photography business information.  For newer brides, Ileana worked at Tropical Imaging and had rave reviews for her photography including trash the dress, boudoir, and wedding ceremony.  (though for weddings, she would have to have a room booked in her name for 3 nights.)  Most people met her off the resort for wedding day photos.  So she left TI and started her own company and here's her info below.

Company name: Attimi Photography - Life & Love. Captured.

Amber was correct in everything that she said! We are going to pay $225/table for the Seaside Serenade table setup and centerpieces in addition to the fee per person for the private reception.  Their explanation is that they will have staff and an area dedicated to your and your party. Like I said, we are having such a large group of people that this is the best option for us. If you don't want the theme on each table then you will still pay $100/table for the Beautiful Beginnings theme or have your own decor.  They are still going to charge you a set-up fee for the tables if you bring your own centerpieces and such.

Also I forgot to mention that there is a "set-up"  fee for the sand ceremony even if you are bringing your own items like us. I think the fee is either $50 or $75, I don't have my notes with me, sorry.

Honestly everything was so simple because you don't need to overdo anything there...the natural surroundings are sooooo beautiful! We didn't have a DJ, we actually rented the iPod dock and had our own playlist. So we just kinda knew which songs where going to be when and went with it. We only had 18 total people including us so we didn't do the whole formal reception thing. As for the dinner, she set up the reservations and then the restaurant took care of us from there. They had two long tables set up for us and we had one server just for us. He was very attentive. The only thing I would change is ...I would have had my wedding earlier so we could have more time for pictures and I would have liked more time before our dinner. Other than that everything was perfect!

Did you get beer & alcohol at the cocktail hour? If so did you have to pay per person? Did you think 1 hour was enough? Im thinking about having it 2 hours and paying the difference so it is a little longer. What kind of appetizers were they? My fiance is highly allergic to shellfish so I will have to specify that!! Also how much did you have to pay for the ipod dock? My wedding is at 2, I hope I have enough time for everything! What time was yours at? Did they supply the stuff for the sand ceremony? If yes was it nice? I really appreciate your help! its making me feel much better!!! :)

Hey Christine!  See my post a few up.  I posted Ileana's new business information.  She started her own thing called Attimi.  All her contact info is listed. So fear not, she is still around.  I'm going to go with her as well.  If you email her, she will email you her price sheet.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
