I am so excited and I hope I can get everything done in 3 months!! This site has been very helpful so thank you everyone! My fiance and I were actually planning a wedding for October in our hometown and made some deposits, but the more we look at the money were going to be spending, we decided to have a destination wedding with just us and my 6 year old son :)

Welcome & congratulations 'mmb13111'!

It looks like 'Jsquared 2012' and I have the same wedding date of 5/5/12, just a day after yours!

My ceremony is 11am, on the beach.  I am doing beautiful beginnings, but upgrading my flowers, adding the steel pan player, a beach arch, and we're doing the 30 minute reception after the wedding.  I have a group of 24, and it finally looks like 10 rooms total (yay!), so we'll get the complimentary welcome dinner and other stuff that goes along with that. We'll just do a group lunch in one of the restaurants after the reception, then play the rest of the day without setting a time that everyone has to get back together.  Too many of my guests arrive Friday and depart Sunday, so I want them to feel like they are getting to do as much as they want at the resort.

Then, 3 days after the ceremony we get to get all dressed up again!  We're booked with Ileana from TI for a "trash the dress" photography session, followed by a private romantic dinner on the beach.  Woohoo!

Roxy, my BTC wedding coordinator, is back from maternity leave.  She called yesterday to go over everything, ask if I had any questions.  LOL, if it weren't for this awesome website and this Brandy starting this Beaches T&C roll call, I would have been a basket case the last few months trying to figure out where to start or what to do.

Hey girls,

So Beaches sent us home with 2 notorized wedding certificates....they mail you the original in 8-12 weeks. Just wanted to let you girls know i changed my name on my license and at social security with these, no problem. Thought i would just throw this out there because we were wondering about this after we got them. Especially since the SS website says they don't take notorized certificates, only originals, but like i said no problem at all!

Your so welcome Wendy!!! LOL I didnt take it the wrong way lol I knew what you meant

Yeah we did the same thing Lizz, and I had no problems at all getting a SS card and DL no questions asked, it was much easier than I thought it was going to be, but I do know you absolutely have to have the original to change your passport.

And Welcome all new Brides!!!

And congrats to all the new Mrs!!!

Thank you for that info Brandy. We pretty much just figured out that we will have 18 (including us) total...so we are thinking of doing one of the restaurants for sure. And I saw that one of the ladies on here had her dinner at Schooner's and it was in a secluded area of the restaurant...so we are leaning toward that. I think we will make our final decisions when we get down there.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
