Need your help ladies! Colors choice...

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies,

I been thinking for a while now and I would need your honest opinions regarding my wedding colors choice.

I avoided the question with my invites because I choose a colorful passport with a navy blue Canadian cover!

Now, I need to start thinking about flowers, bridesmaid dresses, favor, etc. and have to choose!

My concern is I am planning to use the resort terrace for the ceremony.  This terrace is GORGEOUS and has a amazing view!   But at the same time, it's really colorful (I have attached some pictures).  If I go with too light colors, I am afraid it gonna look wash out.  If I go with too bright, will it look too much?  And how about green?  It's seem there is already a lot of green and blue!

I like pink, because it suits my blonde hairs and complexion but seems there is already purple-pink flowers on the terrace.  Ok, I know, it's silly to worry about that.  Should I stay in a white and champagne theme even if I like pink?  SO confused...

Is it me or it's a hard one ?  Did you find it hard to choose your colors?

Any sincere opinion will be gladly appreciated! I am looking forward to read you!

Thanks in advance!

LilyRose

P.S. On some pics, there is some furnitures on the terrace, of course, they won't be there for the wedding.

First I would like to say that the view from that terrace is gorgeous.  I visited St. Lucia on a cruise and it is (in my opinion) the most beautiful island in the Caribbean.

If you like pink, then I think you have to find a way to work it in.  But I see what you mean about not wanting it to be too colorful.  My first thought is a lighter shade of pink for the girls' dresses and maybe navy blue for the chair sashes (if you are going to have any).  Most resorts have white chair covers, so I think it would be good to have something to contrast, but some sort of "neutral" so it doesn't seem to busy.  I said navy blue because there appears to be a dark shade of blue in the tile work that could tie it together.

Whatever colors you choose, your ceremony will be gorgeous with that view!!!

Thanks clgriffi7!

Hopefully, the pink won't make it looks like "Back in the 80'" hahahaha! It's not supposed to be my theme!

I never considered navy blue and I think it's a great idea!  I will keep it in mind for sure!

As always, any other ideas are welcome!

Thanks,

I think there are so many colours in the tiles and plants that you should choose just one of those as a signature colour and a nice hot pink would look amazing alongside the whites and creams that you mention, I would be tempted to have the girls in neutral colours and then have pink flowers or sashes on the dresses

Honestly I think you should stay with youer white and champagne theme. Since the colors are already so bold, I dont think you should try to compete with Nature and the beautiful surroundings of St. Lucia.(which is one of my fav islands). If you like the color pink. I dont see anything wrong with doing little accents of pink here and there.. But I think let nature and the amazing caribbean be your backdrop. =)

First off your ceremony location is gorgeous!!! I think that you have to go with your gut!! It is your day you don't want to look back and regret not going with the color you really wanted. With so many colors in the tiles and the scenery alone your options are endless!! But I think pink would work! Good luck!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
