I need Pro's vs. Con's for my Top 4 choices...

I'm staying at the Barcelo Langosta - we leave in a week.  Our wedding is going to be at a little beachfront restaurant at the Tamarindo Estuary called La Laguna.  I will let you know what I think of it when we return.  The planning process has not been easy and we are using a local wedding coordinator.  I am totally having a bit of regret in not just keeping it more simple and doing it right at the Barcelo.  The wedding planner at Barcelo - Argerie, is great!  I think she would pull off a great wedding and you wouldn't feel like you were being overcharged for everything.  The reason I decided to go off of the resort was because the restaurant where you hold your reception is right beside the theatre. The show starts at 8:30 and we were told it would likely interfere with our dinner - the noise.  However, we are likely spending $4000-$5000 more than what we anticipated.  So.... my advice is to be really sure what is important to you and stick with it.  It's easy to get swept into all of the details and before you know it you are in over your head!

I'll share my full reviews soon!

Hi, we are searching for a venue in Tamarindo and are very interested in Langosta Beach Club. lolomontreal would you mind giving a little input as to your experience with them and/or any tips. We are thinking of doing the ceremony and reception there but haven't received any info about their prices yet.

Thank you in advance

Kevanna1111. For my husband and I the Langosta Beach Club was our obvious spot to have our reception, because of the beautiful layout, with pool and cabannas, sound of the waves, and the great food. We did not have the ceremony in front of the LBC, because we wanted the rocks in the background of Cala Luna Point. The beach in front of LBC might also be more busy than the Cala Luna Point, but I know a lot of ceremony are done at LBC.

In terms of service, we were pampered. We had not reserved the whole restaurant because there was a high fee associated with that. We were a group of 30 people and we took most of the space, so there was only 4 other guests in the restaurant. It did not bother us at all. I strongly suggest you go for a tasting menu and insist that the chef be present. I found their wine list very expensive, so we bought all the wine at the Automercado and paid the corking fee. You better stick with Chilean or Argentinean because they are good value/price. Since most of our guests are wine drinkers and not cocktail, we didn't take the open bar which ended up being a very good decision (bar tab including corking fee came up under 500$). I know they tried to increase the corking fee once we didn't take the open bar, but our wedding planner showed them they had agreed to 15$. They gave us all the unopened bottles the day after. All the guests were very happy about all the appetizers and the food. We actually took their least expensive menu because it was more fish options than meat. They adjusted the speed of the service according to our request, we had hungry guests after the ceremony and cocktail so we asked to start service faster than planned. After dinner, some guests went into the pool and they heated towels, which was a very nice gesture.

Another great restaurant is Season's by Schlomy. This is were we had the rehersal dinner.

Enjoy the planning part!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
