Majestic Elegance June, 2011

Recommended Posts

Let's Go June brides!!! My FH and I are book for June 29, 2011 at Majestic Elegance.  Ceremony will be at 1:00pm at the Wedding Gazebo.  We are having our dinner at Asadito.  On a small budget.  Will be sending boarding pass STD's this weekend (I know I'm waaay behind).  I'm very big on the DIY and I'm finding it's a lot easier than I originally anticipated. Where is everyone on their planning?huh.gif?

We booked a Jr. Suite in the Elegance Club.  We are doing the reception dinner at Asadito Steakhouse (I'm not paying that much for private reception!)  I'm looking online now to buy my own chair sashes, table runners, and isle runner.  For all of them I'm only paying $60. ME charges $5 per chair sash and $100 for the isle runner!  We are having a civil ceremony @ 1pm on the 29th (soo excited!)  Where are you guys at in your wedding planning?!?!

Can you please let me know where you got all your stuff for only $60?? I am def. interested in doing the same thing! I'm not sure yet about our reception. I'm thinking of doing the free dinner at a rest. and then maybe renting out the parrot bar or wet bar for some dancing! I'm going to wait and see how many guests we have booked :)

efavormart.com is where I was looking at the time.  They have satin chair sashes in a variety of colors for less than a dollar and they also have isle runners for around $20.  I'm not ordering anything from this company though because if you google them, they have AWFUL reviews and I don't want the headache.  There do seem to be good companies out there though and I plan on buying the sashes online (if you go this route make sure you know the difference between grade A and B satin. Most of the $1/sash deals are grade B which can be very flimsy.  For around $2 I've been able to find some nice grade A sashes.)  I just did a google search.  I don't think I'm going to take big flower vases or anything.  The cost to fly with that heavy stuff outweighs the cost of just using theirs.  I don't think anyone would notice some vases lining the isle anyway.  I think I would rather have a couple of nice centerpieces.  I also thought about renting out a bar after the dinner for some dancing, I'm just having a really hard time justifying the cost.  I guess I'll have somewhere around 20 guests, so it's not like we'd fill up the dance floor anyway!  Good luck in your planning!

Hi!! I'm booked May 25th 2011, 1pm on the beach.

I was wondering for the Asadito reception, are you getting the whole restaurant? Are they charging you for a bar? Are they charging you a flat rate or a per person fee??

I am thinking of doing my reception at the Parrott bar, outdoors, but it's getting expensive, so I'm trying to find another way to do a private party....

thanks for the advice!

Dinner at the steakhouse is included in the wedding package for up to 60 guests.  This is a semi-private dinner (sectioned off area).  Dinner is a set menu and drinks are included, but you cannot play music.  We are doing dinner at the steakhouse and then renting the wet bar and sound system after ($550 for 3 hours) this doesn't include bar service.  We are paying $5 pp/hr for sodas/beer/wine/champagne.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
