June 2011 Brides: Roll Call

Recommended Posts

Just looking for some brides that're hitting up PV in June. Here are the rules: Answer these two questions: What's your date? Where are you marrying? And....what made you pick your date? I'll start!

My date is June 25 at Grand Velas Vallarta in Nuevo. I chose this date because it would mark our second anniversary, it was on a Saturday, and it's in the low season, which means cheaper!

Hi OP!

I'll be getting hitched in PV on June 7th! At Dreams Puerto Vallarta. We chose the date because in Canada, when you go to Mexico it is via a week-long charter flight. So we are going down to PV on the 4th... so we picked a day a few days after that! Not much significance, I'm afraid. :)

And yes...we picked June because it was WAY CHEAPER too!

Hey AfricanVenus!

Well, it goes like this. In Canada it is really popular to take a "hot holiday" in the winter to escape the cold. However, places like Mexico and the Carribean are pretty far away to go for a weekend. And the flights/hotels are really expensive. So, there are a handful of companies that have emerged that offer charter "vacation packages" to all inclusive holidays in the south. It is WAY cheaper than booking everything yourself. They are usually for 7 or 14 days, and you pay one price, which includes flights, transport to hotel, and the all inclusive hotel stay. So, for example, we are going to Dreams PV in June, the very end of the season for these charters (most of them have stopped running for the season). The charter flight leaves from a major city called Calgary. All my friends/family get on a plane in their city wherever they live and fly to Calgary. There, we all meet up in Calgary and the charter flight takes us to PV, and drives us to the hotel. For a one week all-inclusive holiday including hotel AND airfare, my guest are paying $1200 including taxes and fees. If we didn't go via a charter company, the flights alone would have cost more than that. So its a pretty sweet deal!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
