Just engaged, planning St. Thomas wedding

Hi everyone, just got officially engaged last weekend and I'm excited to be planning my own wedding (planned my mom's and a friend's weddings over the past few years). We're thinking late 2012 for the date, but still TBD.

My fiance and I have been joking for months about going to St. Thomas to get married. We already know the resort we think we want - Frenchman's Reef & Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort outside Charlotte-Amelie. Anyone been here, planning to go here, etc?

We're also toying with the idea of doing a cruise wedding, but its still all up in the air. I've found some interesting threads so far of the pros and cons.

Looking forward to sharing with and learning from all you planners out there!

OMG my family and I went to St. Thomas over the summer -- it was a stop on our cruise. BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL place and definitely one of my favs. Megans Bay is where we spent the day and it was like a dream, I seriously cannot wait to go back and explore the island more. Your wedding is going to be fabulous!!!

Happy planning!!! smile03.gif

Congrats!

We are also getting married in St.Thomas. We are cruising with Carnival in Feb 2011 and are getting off the ship in St. Thomas and using Perfect weddings of St. Thomas. We are getting married just off the beach on Limetree/Bluebeards Beach. Let me know if you have an questions I can try to help you with!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
