aquatracie & cocoHolly - congrats!!  Your pics are gorgeous and I'm happy you had amazing weddings!

Curls - I agree with aquatracie, the trio was great and well worth it.  It was one of the details that we didn't really even think about and were pleasantly surprised with how they turned out.  Our guests loved them.  My only regret was that I was anti-"walk down the aisle to Canon in D" and didn't tell them so that was their default.  Obviously not a huge deal!

natalie - here is a thread to our welcome bags http://www.bestdesti...30/our-oot-bags  Our guests really enjoyed them and I think the biggest hit was our wedding "facebook".  It seems like a really daunting task but if you start early enough when you get confirmation from guests who are coming, it was really fun to do.

Welcome back Julissa!! You look gorgeous!! I am very much looking forward to the video, I assume Tropical Pictures did it? How was the food? Lots of onlookers at the gazebo? Ely....hey stranger :D , I got my personalized backs from Vistaprint and used a groupon, I can send pics if you want to see them. So far I have personalized T-shirts also from vistaprint, first aid kits, hand santizer, travel sunblock, disposable cameras, and a deck of cards. As I get closer I will purchase things for our "Oh shit kit" which include pepto, tylenol, alka seltzer, etc. I will also add a brochure/welcome book with things about the resort specifically restaurants, and include schedule of any excursions we will be doing and games for anyone who wants to participate. As I dont want the week to be scheduled and have to keep in mind people are on vaca too. I am waiting for Airtran to release there fares because the prices as you ladies know from NY are ridiculous right now! I am hoping one everyone has their fares out then it will get a bit more competitive and things will go down a bit. P.S. I started a Vistaprint thread on here for groupons and one of the girls just posted that there is an active one now that needs to be purchased within the nxt 6 days and its $17 for $70 worth of merchandise. It must be used my Jan 2013 but huge savings as all my visit print stuff was purchased with groupons and is sooo reasonably priced.

Excited to find this blog. Getting married in April of 2014 (shooting for Sat the 12th), and I think we're going to go with this resort. All of your comments and pictures are making me very optimistic about it!

Only thing I wonder about is the kids at the resort. It seems to be a very family oriented place, and while I don't mind kids...I don't want there to be a ton of kids running around the resort since the majority of my guests will be adults. Can anyone comment on this?

Looking forward to many more posts!

                  Hello < Feb2012

You don't have to book your up-do at the spa!  That is what your wedding coordinator is for.   The day you meet with her she will give  you your weeks itinerary and call the spa and book for you herself.  It makes it much easier, our wedding coordinators speak fluent English and Spanish and have high authority so when they take care of details they get it done right for you!  Just bring pictures of what you want for your bridal hair and makeup and they will follow that as a guideline!  Its too easy so don't worry!!

                  Tracie :D

WTRunner Awesome review and FB pics. Blown away...thank you so much. Is it too intrusive to ask how much everything ended up costing...ballpark? I'm tempted to throw it all in there...full day photographer, DJ with MC, etc. Also, did you see a need to do a cocktail hour before the ceremony, or in b/w ceremony in reception? Doesn't look like you did.
