    Hi Ladies!

     

    I was finally able to log in again!

    My wedding is fourth months away! I have been emailing Aris about getting the ball rolling with the preparations and haven't heard much from her. Does anyone know when they begin the planning process because I'm freaking out!

      I am beginning to freak out as well and it seems every time I try and get things sorted out and planned I never seem to get the answers I need and my wedding is in just over 2 months :S

       

      Do we have to let them know about table cloth colours and sash colours prior to going down there? I can;t believe how much the extras are, like the draping and lighting that I wanted soooo bad but I refuse to pay the thousands they want for it! so frustrating!!!

       

      I feel as though I am the worst wedding planner ever. I want to make little wedding day timelines for everyone but I dont even know what time my reception is going to start, at least it is not confirmed with the coordinator or anything so its hard to go ahead on these kind of things. Oh and centrepieces are so expensive to use at the resort so I am trying to figure soemthing out to be able to carry some down with me but then you have to worry about extra luggage allowances etc..

       

      Ugh I feel as though I am going slightly crazy

        I feel completely the same! I asked my wedding coordinator for the colors so I picked from a list she sent me. Other than that I don't know anything! She had told me Tropical Pictures should contact me regarding the photography but they haven't. Have you reached out to them?

          I am bringing my own photographer with me so that is theo ne thing I haven't had to worry about! but everything else seems to be a disaster :S

           

          It is also so hard to chose colours when you can't exactly see everything in person lol

           

          So I guess I haven't even chose my colours for the tables yet either! wahhhhhh stress!

            @MissJali did you get your answer about the mics? Also, which dj did you book and did you do it with your wedding coordinator?

              Hi Tricia,

               

              The djs are mute unless you get the MC lol. I told my WC I want DJ Mannia and I reached out to him myself and he said i'd have to go through my WC and she hasn't gotten back to me and im 2 weeks out. Mannia did follow up with me to see if my wc gave me the info i needed and i know he is available so we will see.

              @MissJali Wow that must nerve wracking! It's great that you've made contact with Dj Mannia and they know your interested at least. Not to worry, soon enough you'll be there with your family and friends without a care in the world. 

               

              I am so excited for you! 2 weeks will go by quickly!

                I'm glad to have found this forum, as it has given me confirmation that we made a good choice in reserving our wedding date at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe for this coming October.  In the meantime, I wanted to post just a few questions that I'm hoping someone could answer for me.

                 

                - organizing a block of hotel rooms for our wedding guests: since this is an all-inclusive resort is this even an option?

                 

                - kids rates: my understanding is that kids still count against the headcount for the wedding but at half-price, regarding the hotel rooms, does anyone know if they still are required to pay the adult rate?

                 

                - what is the best option for a DJ?  I've read that DJ Mannia is great but that we have to get it organized via the WC.  Is that the best choice?

                In my experience, it is possible.  I am not sure how many.  But I did this all with our travel agent.

                The kids have a lower rate.  Again, our travel agent broke it all down for us.

                From what I've heard, DJ Mannia is the way to go.  I haven't even heard of alternate options other than bringing your own music and renting equipment.
