No, we looked at that date but we don't fly in until the Sunday (the 10th) and were told that we wouldn't be there soon enough!  We are getting married on November 13th, the day after.  Would have been pretty cool if we could have done it a day earlier!

No, we looked at that date but were told that we would not be in the country soon enough.  We fly in on the Sunday (the 10th) and will be getting married on the 13th.  Would have been cool if we could have made that date work!

Tdawn,

I remember seeing an Ipod dock in the room when I did my site visit.

Here is some info I got from Lianny last week just in case anyone else had the same questions:

I asked her if there is a fee for bringing your own alcohol, it sounds ridicoulos since it is an all-inclusive resort LOL but my fiance wants to bring a special whiskey to the rehearsal dinner, Lianny said there is a $10 USD fee to open it! that is even more ridicoulos LOL

if you want to have a catholic ceremony, you can pick 2 of the readings, but the priest gets to pick the other 2.

if you are having a catholic ceremony and want some type of music during the mass, like the gloria, etc, the pianist/trio can play it.

thanks!

Can any of the past brides comment on the reception food? I was thinking of having the tenderloin and chicken, but also considering the fish as a no beef option (it sounds goodcheesy.gif). One of my gf"s had a wedding with a Barcelo in Mexico and her one word of advice was to have a tasting prior to the reception. Not sure if we will have time for a tasting since we are only in Dominican 2 days before the wedding. Any thoughts on any of the dishes would be appreciated!

Newbride i havent had my wedding yet, but from reading this forum I can tell you I heard great reviews on the pesto chicken and the beef tenderloin.  I dont remember anyone picking fish, but may have skipped that.  If you are worried, during your meeting just ask to taste the ones you are trying to decide between.

So excited! After everything being put on a standstill with my dad's health, Susana got back to me today on the new date and we are ready to confirm. Originally she told me we'd have to wait until April to put down the deposit!!! Thank God as the save the dates went out and I have yet another "friend" who has decided to plan her destination wedding 3 weeks after mine.

Great news! Are you having a symbolic or legal ceremony? From reading through the thread it sounds like they'll only commit to an actual time if you do symbolic, but if it's legal the time is up to the judge.

Did you get to confirm the ceremony and reception locations, or does that happen later in the process?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
