Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe

Recommended Posts

Miss Jali, yes I booked with liberty and a big reason why was because my guests were able to put a $50 deposit down and pay it lil by lil which was a huge benefit. They crossed referenced their prices with the barcelo prices so my guests got the early booking rates. I found that cheap carribean.com was only a few dollars cheaper in most cases to what liberty quoted. Also although I did my own StD they offer free personalized ones to all brides and includes the TA contact info. Of course airfare had to be paid in full and I would highly suggest if flying out of NY jumped on anything you see less than $500 rt. I saw airfare for $480 back in November and regretfully didn't jump on it and it cost me nearly $200 more per ticket!

Mvee: they don't allow outside vendors without paying a $1300 fee. You can however bring your photographer with you as long as they are staying at the resort and counted as a guest. They are contracted with Tropical Pictures and you can ck em out on FB. They do allow you to bring your own decorations and offer both buffet and side down dinners. Buffet is what is typically included in the package n the played is at an additional cost. I did a site visit and for me I loved that the resort had so much to offer and was super family friendly. We have a 2 year old so this was important to us. Also everything was well maintained and the grounds were beautiful. The WC was very nice and knowledgable, oh and the resort was one of the more affordable ones on my list. Good luck and happy planning:)

Thanks Tamara, I will keep you updated. I'm from DR so there's no way in you know what, that quote was going to fly with me. And that was from destinationweddings.com. I am also waiting to hear back from Apple Vacations. I can't believe she even tried to quote me $1500 pp for 7 nights no air included lol

Mvee, I originally stayed at BBPD in March 2009 with my parents for my mom's birthday and we just absolutely fell in love. My parents had stayed at this resort back in the early 2000s and they were impressed with the renovations and definitely the premium services. I fell in love with the Club Premium also, definitely a ton of perks and the pier that they have (where I'm having my ceremony) and just knew that I would have my wedding here. It didn't hurt that I got engaged in the Barcelo Punta Cana last year either lol.

Since the deluxe rooms are located near the golf course they are further away from the beach.  A friend of mine stayed here last year and said it was about a 10 minute walk to the beach from the deluxe rooms, but you also have the "Barcelo trolleys" that come around frequently.

Miss Jali-

I will not even go into my situation with having a TA, but I will say the best thing you can do for your guests is not use one!  Online websites like the ones you mentioned, plus resortvacationstogo.com have great deals (and include taxes) and sometimes they have AMAZING deals. Just two weeks ago our resort was the "deal of the week" on cheapcarribean.com and the room we reserved back in August through our TA was 1000 dollars cheaper then what we paid!! TAs make money off of your room bookings so they are always more. Dont do it! It is stressful, your guests have access to a computer and will price compare...you will feel like your guests are being overcharged, you have to fight to get the better price, etc etc. And honestly you are going to look for prices yourself because you care about your guests...you will constantly check the flights, the online resort sites...so in essence you will be the TA...and your guests will end up getting better prices hands down!

I just have a question for any of you who have been to PC before.

For favors I want to do DR chocolate, coffee and cigar.

We are planning on purchasing a box of cigars from the local market when we get down there, and the Tamara provided me with a great website for the DR coffee...but for the chocolates....I got a quote from a PC company for 3 truffles for 5$ (so around 170 for our guests) do you think this is a good price or should i just wait to get down there and buy the chocolate at the local market? I know they will package it nicely and deliver to the hotel so that is a plus!

I just received my invoice and it's $4200 for the tangerine sunset package. The brochure I have stated $4000. I assume they are upping the price for 2014, but I was wanting to confirm other 2014 brides have been given this amount...?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
