@@AddyB my date is July 31.

I'm just now getting started with my WC Margari. She's pretty quick on response so far but can't answer my catholic ceremony questions. I have to go directly through the parish contact.

One note to remember....everything is negotiable with them! It's a part of their culture. :)

Hi ladies,

I am having the hardest time trying to get something beautiful for my centerpieces. We are already carrying stuff for our OOT bags, including 50+ tumblers and I really want to avoid carrying things for the centerpieces. Anyone have any luck getting floral arrangements for less than $100 per table? My WC quoted me $88 for a small centerpiece using a few roses, carnations and snapdragons.

@@MissTS I just sent my WC pictures of centerpieces I want. I'm getting very nervous about the decor. I also asked her about the outside vendor policy and she said it would be $1000 per vendor. That's ridiculous! Let's see the quotes she gives me when she gets back to me about the centerpieces.

@@BNeff have you had any luck negotiating anything?

Okay I just started following this forum and  I was told I could bring my own decorations? I see other people saying they were not allowed to do so??? I don't want to get there and no be allowed to use my decorations. Was anyone else told they could bring their own decorations or have done so in the past????

I was told I could bring my own decorations as well and that's exactly what I'm doing. They quoted me 3, 4, & $500usd for the each centerpiece. That ridiculous. I decided to do it all myself with a florist that is a friend. I already purchased all my flowers and centerpieces. If any brides getting married after me want to work out a deal to use them let me know. I will add some photos. I'm upset with the fact that they won't compensate me in some way for the things included in my package that I'm not going to use. But I will be taking everything that is included in package including the fish bowl centerpieces and making use of them some other way. I want to get my money's worth.

The centerpiece costs are out of control! I too am struggling with whether to pay way too much for the minimalism that they call a center piece, or attempt to bring the stuff to make my own.

The outside vendor fee is a whole 'nother annoying topic. I think I'll just be going with Tropical Pictures.

Hello ladies!

My fiance and i just put the deposit down and booked our date! We are getting married November 7, 2015, our WC just sent us the pricing list for the centerpieces and stuff. My fiance and i refuse to pay that much for centerpieces, with that being said would you mind letting me know more information about your florist friend?

@kvilagi  We had a family member officiate and we weren't charged anything.  My ceremony was symbolic, so not sure if that makes any difference.

Ladies - I chose the centerpiece included in the package, but replaced the rocks in the fishbowl with these gel things my mom picked up.  My WC (Elizabeth) had no issues with me bringing my own stuff.  I honestly didn't even pay attention to the centerpieces....I only saw them in a pic my friend took! haha

The outside vendor fee is really annoying and I was very hesitant about Tropical Pictures so we ordered a small package to just have them cover the ceremony/group shots and then my cousin (who is a photographer) also took photos during the ceremony and reception.  I guess if you have someone in mind you can get around it that way. :P   It's still $550 for the most basic package, but I didn't have to pay my cousin so it worked for us.  We also did request their videographer.  We haven't received the video yet, but I already feel like we should have paid the extra $400 to have him for 3 hours at the reception. He was only there for about an hour and that's just dinner for the most part.

I'll be posting a full review with some pics after we receive the video!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
