It's funny you mentioned being scared of the number of people that will come.  I'm the same.  I really wanted the pier, but Susana told me only 50 people can fit (it's really 55), but then we kept adding people to our guestlist,  I'm almost hoping people will decline. haha.

Well the chillout terrace is $500/hour which is what we wanted as cocktail hour, if we have it. Plus per person, it just gets so expensive all of a sudden lol.................For the welcome party, you have to pay as well unless it's like 20 people then they can just make reservations.

Girl I will be happy with 50 people but his family is dominican and well it's alot of them lol .... I love them so we'll see next month when we send the save the dates lol

Yea, it is an extra cost.  Well, at least you'll get to see his family.  As my mom says, "the more the merrier!"      And you're lucky with the photography.  Right now, that's what I'm looking into.  Either bring someone or use Tropical.

Well figure out the cost of the flight and min 3 night stay for 2 and look at that versus Tropical Pictures. Their packages are so expensive and I heard good things about them but you only get a certain amount of pictures and time and I'm so OCD with making sure everything flows that putting me on a time constraint will make me Bridezilla, guaranteed.

At least with the guys I'm flying over they will do as I please lol - or my brother will give them orders for me (they are good friends) lol lol

I am actually flying out 2 guys who are photographers/videographers and have their own company (friends of my brothers)

It's cheaper to fly them out and pay for a 3 night stay and I get everything I want and then some.

Tropical is so limited and I was getting frustrated like you and thought about this plan and my brother is backing me up so so far they accepted and I will get all my pictures, not a certain amount and certain time. Since they are staying as my guests then I don't have to pay any fee because they are part of my wedding regardless and them being professionals is just a perk!

I have a photographer willing to fly out with us from here for free (just in exchange for a free vacay) but the video thing is annoying me.

The photographer doesn't know any videographers willing to do the same?

The only thing I can think of is getting a tripod/stand for a camcorder and have someone do it for you if you want to save some $$$

MrsD and Jali,  do you girls have the details on what's included in the packages they offer at Tropical Pictures?  I think I only have the price list for them, but Susana never e-mailed me anything else on them.  For some reason I have a file on my computer that has Coresfilms video and photo.  The whole time I thought it was Tropical Pictures, but I'm thinking I got this file from another resort when I was looking at their wedding packages. LOL.

no, it's a family friend who's done all of my parties. I wouldn't trust anyone to do the video for me, so i might have to pay TP

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
