Hi Brides!!

I have posted on here a couple times before...and read through EVERY post in this thread! I'm so excited as my wedding day is closer than what I thought (8 months away)

I have bought a couple of things for the welcome bags that I'm making, but thought I'd ask to see if any of you have added anything that I missed!

HAPPY PLANNING! :)

ok so i am probably the WORST when it comes to wedding planning! My wedding is still 7months away (April 2014) I have the date booked and ceremony time and reception etc...but haven't booked or discussed anything else with the coordinator.  Which I believe from reading through the past comments, is no longer working there :( so I emailed the other day and still ahven't heard back.

Should I be booking and reserving a dj this far in advance? and with decor etc do I need to let them know colours or does most of this get dealt with once we are there?

I am the WORST wedding planner ever!!!!!!!!!!!

Ps.. Thank goodness for this thread or else i would be even more lost! I love all the pictures and posts from all the past weddings!! Makes me so excited for mine!!

$1000 for outside vendor?! That's the most expensive outside vendor fee I have heard so far... Yes, I understand by inviting the HDC photographer to be my "guest" they have to stay at the hotel, and that's what I intend to ask them to do... I am willing to pay for photographer's lodging for 2 nights, on top of the photography package. I was wondering though if BBPD would be unhappy about that and kick the photographer out claiming that he is outside vendor..
I have written to a few local photographers and they said they can not go as guest bc the resort knows who they are. They will charge vendors fee. I been lookong to dodge that bullet as well.

Hey Trish,

Most of the stuff that needs to be taken care will be done at the meeting when you get to the resort. My wedding is just about 2 months away and I have only emailed the wedding coordinator once about 2 weeks ago.  You are not a priority to them until you are about three months away from your wedding date (as they are busy dealing with weddings that are happening sooner).  They have everything there and you just sit down with them and then pick what you are wanting (chair sashes, flowers, wedding cake).  I love this way of planning as I really haven't had to worry about too much yet and know that they will have everything taken care of after our meeting!  At least those are my thoughts!  Happy Planning!

Don't worry about that at all! I had no idea about anything and when I discovered all these lovely ladies, it was heaven sent. Now everything makes sense! Ask away if you have any questions, we are all here to help each other!

Hey Trish,

My wedding is also in April! And no worries I'm probably the same as you. I've gotten a whole bunch of files from my coordinator in terms of food menus, cakes, flowers, colors, etc... But I haven't chosen anything yet. DJ or photographer probably should be done ahead of time if you were looking for services outside of what the resort provides. I know that there is a wedding questionnaire that needs to be filled out closer to the date with all your selections that you will send to the coordinator. Otherwise, not to worry, we still have lots of time! :)

Hi!  Mine is in May as well.  Time is flying.  I also just started thinking of ideas for the welcome bag and have yet to do wedding dress shopping.  Goodluck and have fun!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
