Hey ladies! Alright I said earlier, I got married on 8-3. I arrived at the resort on Wednesday, 7-31-13 and was greeted with a drink and directed to club premium since we booked the Jr suite ocean front Room. Upon arrival, I was upgraded to a MASTER SUITE and we were so excited. As promised they had welcome champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, and Rum. When I got to the room it was not the room I was expecting and called club premium and they sent a bell boy with a room key to guide me another room to view. When I got to the room it was more than I asked for the room was still a master suite but there was two jacuzzis (one inside and another outside on the balcony), the bedroom, bathroom, and living area were separated and there was two balconies. It was ocean front view. The room was beautiful. The following day I met with Susana and went through all the details and handed her over all my favors, cake cutters, USB for the ceremony music, sand ceremony etc. I also met with tropical photos since I was using them for video. The resort is beautiful and my guest were amazed. The service was great and it was not too bad given the fact there was a language barrier but the workers were decent. On Thursday night, I held a welcome cocktail hour at Bar Carey and it was a hit. The bartenders were great and at that time I handed out my welcome bags. In the bags I had tumbler cups with our names and wedding date on it, Spanish books from amazon, candy, sanitizer, the Itineary for the week and the wedding Itineary for the wedding that Susana created. The cups were a hit and the guest loved them. Thursday night all the ladies went to club imagine and we had an awesome time there and there were some Brazilian dancers there that night which was a highlight. On Friday, I held a wedding rehearsal dinner that was held in one of the ballrooms and it was private and the waiters did a great job. Wedding day the groomsmen got ready in ours master suite room and all the bridesmaids, my mother, mother in law, my sister all got ready at the Spa. The videographer from tropical photos went to video the guys then met the ladies at the spa. Since ingot the tangerine package my hair and make up was included and my stylist did an awesome job. I did purchase my make up from MAC AND showed her a picture and she did it just the way I wanted it. With previous brides experiences with their hair I was nervous but she did an awesome job and didn't have to change anything. Unfortunately I forget her name but would highly recommend her. In the spa they did provide champagnes and strawberries for us and we toasted and took pics before Susana came to get us. Susana was a bit upset because she did tell me that I could only have 4 other girls with me be transported to the garden gazebo. :/ she had to make two trips but all was good. The ceremony went very well except for the fact the the officiant did not speak English very well and it was hard for my guest to understand but they got the pic...lol It was extremely hot on my wedding day and was glad that I created fans for my guest. For the reception, I ended up extending it for an hour as it cost 1,500 which included the drinks, and the equipment rental. My husband was not too happy but we said yes since we were having soo much fun and still didn't cut the cake. After the wedding, the train took everyone back to the lobby andost of my guest went off the resort to club Jewels which is a club owned by Akon and they had an awesome time. My husband an I headed back to our room since we were exhausted! Everything went well with my wedding day but it does go by soooo fast. So ladies enjoy and don't stress out!!!! I am soo happy I had Susana as she did a great job but my bridesmaid did say she had a bit of an attitude but I cut her slack since she is pregnant. Btw tropical photos had our wedding video ready for us before we left and they did an awesome job!!! I didn't use them for photos beaches I had my own photographers. Oncey photographer send me the photos I will def share someone pics. If you all have any questions let me know! I'm writing this review from my phone so sorry for the typos in advance. Lol

In regards to the cake and food... I didn't like the way my cake looked but it was soo damn good lol! I had the strawberry filling white cake. I highly suggest for your weddings. As far as the food, my main dish was chicken but my guest had the option of selecting beef and about 12 ppl selected the beef dish and I was charged 16/per person for it. My guest loved the reception food and was surprised. They did a great job. Overall the food at the resort is good and my guest took advantage of the all you can eat lobster!!! Lol I ate at la fuente(Spanish) and I didn't like it there. The steakhouse/seafood/and the Japanese restaurants were good and highly recommend it. I didn't get a chance to eat at the other restaurants. As others were saying Marlene is no longer there as well as Helen.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
