My fiancee is definitely the Groomzilla lol

It depends on which airline you end up using. It's usually around $55

Miss Jali- Im not doing escort cards, but I am doing "table numbers" (They arent really numbers-they are water colored pictures of states that mean something to us) and then a small seating chart. So itll just say Tennessee- and then the list of six who sit there and they can decide where at the table. A small chart sort of similar to TDawns guest book table set up with her seating chart. We are having a small group too but I really just loved the pictures and they add more to my small centerpieces.

Soon Mrs D- Dont forget first class gets two free pieces of luggage per person. When we were looking at our tickets and calculated the bringing down and bringing home of extra luggage (two bags at 50, 100 there and 100 back) it was actually only 40 dollars cheaper to get economy than the first class and include the luggage. My parents are flying out of a smaller airport and when they calculated the luggage (cause my mom is helping me bring some stuff down) it was cheaper to get first class! Just something to look at.

Tamara- I got info on the salsa dancing...They dont do free private lessons, but everyday they do dance lessons (different types) on the beach at 4pm and any and all ages are invited to participate. Sorry about the DJ that sucks. You know I feel like if you reserved things (centerpieces and DJ) when you reserved you should be given the price that it was at the time in lockdown! If they change the price during the process that should only be for new brides, people who have yet to make the reservation or what not. Pretty lame. Hope everything works out!

Hey Trivera,

This explains why I got an email from my wedding cordinator saying that I can have dj mannia booked for $1300 USD. I must say that I don't like that they just keep raising prices on everything. They are people who paid 800 for dj and mc 6 months ago.

I will be doing it for my ATH that is for 120 didnt find it necessary for DR since its such a small group. Not sure what past brides did but I dont recall any mention of seating chart/escort cards. I think its a matter of preference. Oh and congrats on grad school I too am in grad school and had to take 3 months prior to the wedding off because I just couldnt juggle it. Good luck!

Miss Jali and TRivera... I'm a grad school bride too! :) Won't be done until December, and then will have about 3 months to finish planning.

I was thinking of doing some kind of seating arrangement, but if it doesn't get done I won't sweat it. I'm one of those people who HATES planning, which is part of why I'm having a destination wedding, so the resort can basically do everything for me. (Well, that and my fiance's family is from DR.)

Based on the the extra and hidden costs, sounds like if you really want to get married here you'll have to bring a credit card that has room for $1,000-$2,000 worth of charges just to make sure you can get everything you want. I think when you're there you'll just want everything to be perfect and while wel care about the price, we'll probably spend the money anyway because it's our wedding day. But since we're all planning ahead we're trying to minimize these surprise costs to the best of our ability. I've already accepted the fact that I'll probably have to spend at least $2,000 over my planned budget for unexpected things that come up. This way I can't be disappointed when it happens.

reign I'm done in December also! and we're both March brides! I'm hoping the prices right now scare a few people from coming to stay under budget. I'm doing everything I can bc in the summer I'm more focused on my beach time lol. Thanks Natalie, that's a brilliant idea and a lot easier! on another note, my dress is getting shipped today. hopefully it's everything I ever hoped for.

Hello Misskay,

We are having our reception on the outside balcony of the presidential suite, it will be a private function.  There is additional cost for that though.  If you would like more information just let me know.  I don't know of any other outside balcony that could be used for dinner.  Some brides that have been there might be able to comment on if there would be something else that would suit what you are looking for.

Anyone have any reviews on manicures and pedicures? Anyone know how long hair and make up took? Just trying to figure out what time to make salon appointments for. Anyone do the facial that comes with the tangerine package? If so any thoughts on it? Also, anyone know the max amount of people that you can make a dinner reservation for? Really stressing about dinner reservations for our stay there and trying to allow everyone who wants to eat together to be able to try make reservations at the same restaurants. We leave in one month and getting a little worried about details!

Parish, Lianny told me max reservation a restaurant for rehearsal was 24 ppl. If the group is larger you could have it in one of the ballrooms with steak house menu. I really wanted the Japanese but we are a group of 32, Lianny made a reservation for us of 24 ppl and when we arrive we will try to make another reservation for the remainder of our group. She said she would make a note (whatever that means) As for other dinner reservations throughout the week max she could book was 12 ppl. I'm working on her for larger groups. I'll let u know if she budges.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
