1) Did anyone that has already been there get a free room upgrade?

2) Is the Cocktail hour worth the money or should just have everyone meet at the same bar?

3) Did Barcelona deliver welcome packages to rooms for anyone or how did you deliver them?

4) Does anyone have an example itinerary?

5) We've got 50 people for the rehearsal dinner. Can any restaurants fit us?

6) Is there an actual rehearsal for a beach wedding or no?

Thanks so much in advance for any answers!

Hi Curls,

I know your wedding just happened! Be sure to let us know how it went. I am loving reading all the reviews and seeing pictures of how everything turned out to get ideas. I'm sure it was beautiful. Look forward to your update!

anyone has the new 2013 prices?

Thanks!

I read through this ENTIRE thread (crazy, I know) and saw a couple of answers. One person said they had 88 guests in Bar Higuey, 11 tables with 8 chairs at each table. Another person said they had b/w 8 and 9 people at each table. I'm thinking they probably set the tables according to how many guests you have and spread the tables and chairs out enough to make your reception look full and not sparse. Hope that helps.

Thanks Aqua Tracie! I figured there would be some sort of catch.

Do you mind answering a question or two more about the Adults only side?

My Fi and I have booked the panoramic room and later it came up with my TA and she said that room is on the adults only side...is that correct? Not that it is a huge deal but I dont want there to be any limitations on the BBPD side because that is where most of our guests are staying.  One concern is that my nieces, who will be my flower girls, wont be able to come to my room for the "bridal shower" or the day of getting ready with pictures.

Also if you dont mind me asking, where did you get your cute cake topper? I want one of my dog and cat since they cant come. They are our children! :)

My TA is out of town so still waiting on the prices, but on the tables i have seen them set up with six or eight. So im assuming you could do seven comfortably as well.

Disazaja,

Regarding table sizes:

When I asked Lianny she said the round table could fit up to 10 ppl but she recommended seating 8 per table. She gave me dimensions of 72x72" not sure what she meant by that since they are round. I can let you know once I receive clarification.

Natalieblev,

When we went for our site visit we had a look at the panoramic room as well. It is not at the Barcelo Beach Resort (neighboring adults only resort), but there is an adults only section of rooms at the BBPD (there is also a nice adults only pool with private bar and cabanas). It is still Part of the BBPD resort which is a family resort so hopefully it won't be an issue.

Hope this helpscheesy.gif

Hi,

My wedding is on May 18th, 2013 and I just started planning. Has anyone had fire dancers at their reception? Also, did anyone have the seated dinner with two options as I was told I had to pick one entree from the menu but I want my guest to have multiple options, so I was thinking about the buffet style. Please advise.

I called the hotel yesterday to book my date and was told that Susanna would be contacting me within 24 hours, so as of yesterday she still works there :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
