He has some youtubes up too of his ceremonies...and he sends you a "religious" and "contemporary" (Though both are beautiful and religious) to chose from and also allows anything like readings, etc.  I found him too through the other thread on here!

Do you mind sharing his contact info? And the name of the videos to find him on youtube.

Aqua and Coco can you please tell me what shade of blue you used from the attached swatches? I am having such a hard time matching colors to a PDF grrr. Also, upon check in the resort gives all guests lil goodies right? If I understand correctly there are passes in each bag for the water park for the kids. Is this per bag or for only the guests that have children? Is it a free pass or discounted off the original $20 per day?

I know this has been answered previously but how much is it to have some sort of a sound system during the ceremony? I know it was a ridiculous price but I have always dreamnt of walking down the aisle to Canon D and trying to justify the expense.

Ladies, thoughts on the colored linen napkins? Think they are $3 a napkin and I am hoping to bring them with us but again its about matching the color to the resort color. Think its a nice touch for the tables but not sure.

Coco or WTurner, have you had any luck with uploading your videos that Tropical Pictures did? I am so anxious to see a video! Fingers crossed..

CocoHolly: My apologies if you already answered this but what did you do for centerpieces? Do you have a picture? If you got them through the resort what did they cost? Thanks!

No I didn't end up having centre pieces - and to be honest no one really noticed!

His name is Rick York if you google Pastor Rick York the youtubes and other forums will come up. His missionary also has a facebook and webpage. (I think I saw you mention that you were having a Catholic wedding, and just incase you did wanted to let you know he is not a Catholic Priest)

I think it was 480$ for the stereo system at the ceremony.

Hi disazaja,

Thanks for the response! So Barcelo Bavaro Beach is the adult only side, and Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe is the side that include kids....OK.

A few other questions for anyone that knows...

1. I read somewhere in this thread that the rooms on the adult side are not as nice as the rooms on the other side. And I think I read that they were being renovated, so maybe they're nicer now? Anyone know if the rooms on the adult side are better now?? I do see that the hotel used to be several hotels and they were merged. Looks like the Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe was built in 2010 so it's new. Is Barcelo Bavaro Beach the older hotel that's maybe been there for a while?

2. I also read that the adult side is further away from everything. One poster on here described it as boring, and another poster described it as nice and relaxing. I'm sure it's a matter of preference, but I'm really trying to get a sense of what the adult side is really like. Is it isolated from the main resort to the point where it's inconvenient? Is it older? Is it dull and boring? Or is it peaceful and relaxing?

The reason I'd like to know is because I noticed when looking up prices that the adult side (Barcelo Bavaro Beach) is about $200 cheaper per person. If it's really nice, I'd like to be able to tell my guests that they can stay there...or perhaps have all of my guests without kids to stay there.

3. I have read two different things regarding whether guests staying on the adult side actually have access to everything on the Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe side. Can anyone clarify this? Is there limited access, or can the folks from the adult side roam freely throughout the entire resort?

Thanks!

Miss Jalli...hmm I wonder? I am sure they will shut that down but I suppose its worth a shot. Any one else try and bring their own music system for "the walk" at the ceremony?

Reign: I visited the resort in Feb of last year and although I didnt see the rooms in the adults only section I can say that it is an entirely seperate area. It is a bit of a hike and too far to walk atleast for us it was. They do have a trolley that runs throughout the day that takes guests throughout both resorts. The property inclusive of both areas is huge, they are however considered one resort and so if you stay at the adults only section you have access to the palace side. If you stay at the palace side you DO not have access to the adults section. Its absolutely a preference thing since their are no kids there I would assume it is in fact relaxing and quiet but they dont have a seperate club like the palace does, but they have lounges. $200 cheaper is a siginificant difference might be worth it. I am sure one of the other brides that stayed there can get into more detail. If your planning on having your reception in Bar Higuey it is in fact located on the adults only area. Hope that helps!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
