Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe

Recommended Posts

Hello Ladies,

I am sorry if there are two posts from me that say the same things. I cannot see the first one I thought I posted.

I was wondering if anyone had any information about reception locations. I am being told that Bar Higuey in not available for our wedding date of May 4th. My finance does not want to have our reception on the beach. I do not want our reception in a banquet hall. I have read previously that someone talked about possibly booking one of the restaurants that have some windows and outdoor seating available for our reception. We are looking to have about 50 people and would like dinner, drinks, and dancing.

Would love if anyone knows of any alternate reception locations that you have been told are possible.

Congrats to all of you!

I am not sure of any other locations that are "included" in the packages.  However, maybe you could ask for the rooftop deck to be your reception location. It would not be very private, but would keep you from the beach and would be a beautiful overlook of the area. Not sure if they allow that, but could be an option.

Also many people have talked about Jellyfish restaurant as being a very good reception location. This however would be a whole different price package as it is not affiliated with the resort, but it is very beautiful and everyone gives it amazing reviews.

Hope that helps a little.

Communication with the resort WC's will continue to be slow and it will be hard to get your questions answered up until (it seems) one month before your wedding.  Most of the planning seems to happen once you get there, which is so annoying, but you will get some questions answered. You just have to be persistent.

Also from this forum it seems that if you do get a calling card and call the WC directly, they will answer questions alot faster! But from what past brides have said, although it is annoying, the weddings turn out great and it is a good time all around.

Also are any brides bringing in things for centerpieces for the reception?  Are you having a hard time getting them to agree to this? Do they care?  I have seen their centerpieces, even the upgraded ones and no options include flowers??? Is that correct?

What types of things are you bringing in to make your wedding YOUR wedding as opposed to the wedding they set up for you?

Natalie: Jellyfish restaurant is amazing and if you can afford it, well worth it. I have attached their brochure/pricing. As far as centerpieces ironically the only upgraded options I have seen only include flowers. (Also attached) I would be very much interested in seeing what you have...the non floral centerpiece upgrade options. Can you please post them or email them to me at trivera5521@yahoo.com.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
