I GOT MY WEDDING CONFIRMATION FORM!!!!! woot.gif Oh man, I'm SO relieved.  This was Susana's response:

Iâ€d like to pick the first picture – the garden gazebo (see attach).  This doesnâ€t mean we have to pick the blueberry package though, right? No, you donâ€t have to choose the blueberry package for this location.  We still want to pick the strawberry package with 35-40 people, and we are willing to pay the $50 for each extra person. ok

For the time, weâ€d like to pick 3:00pm please. Perfect

In the form I sent you, Iâ€ve put down that we will arrive on Friday, May 17, 2013, and the departing on Friday, May 24, 2013.  The wedding day is on Tuesday, May 21, but I really hope this wonâ€t be a problem because my travel agent already booked the flights already.  We donâ€t know the time of arrival yet, but if we get there early on Friday, we can meet with you right away if you want. Donâ€t worry when the wedding date is approaching I will let you know  when is going to be our meeting.

Also, can you attach details of extra costs, sound system, such as cocktail hour after ceremony? Please find the extras attached, as per the cocktails and canapés has an additional cost for $12usd per person, be advise that prices may change.

As for photographer – I understand your resort do not allow external photographer, but if we have a photographer stay with us at the resort for a few days or the whole week, would this be ok? If that person is staying at the hotel and is going to be one of your guest this wonâ€t be a problem.

As I mention emails below for the strawberry passion wedding package you have to place a 30% deposit, please find attaché the bank information, the invoice and your wedding confirmation.

She attached everything except for the bank information.  I think I might have to call her tomorrow to get her to send that over asap.  The confirmation says we have to pay deposit within 7 days or else they'll cancel our reservation.

Thanks Teena84, I actually got a response from Susana myself this past weekend and sent her back the wedding confirmation form. So fingers crossed!! I'm hoping to do the strawberry passion package myself. I'm still in the beginning stages of planning but really don't want October 2013 to sneak up on me.

Congrats Teena84!!

I got some new info ladies about the cocktail hour... here are the list of canapes they offer. We can choose up to 6:

  • Sweet Ham
  • Fried Yuca
  • Fish Stick
  • Canapes of shrimp with tartar sauce
  • seafood terrine with saffron
  • smoked salmon with caper
  • manchego cheese with black grapes
  • canapes of seafood
  • canapes of serrano ham
  • mousse of tuna on bread toasts
  • tartlets with mousse of crab
  • slices of pineapple with cheese.

I also confirmed that the photo booth is 350 per hour and they bring some hats, masks, etc.

She is also going to get me prices for chinese laterns to decorate the ceiling of bar Higuey. I will let you know the prices.

They do offer chiavary chairs on white, silver, gold or brown but each of them is 5.50.

Thanks!

Hey disajaza thanks so much for the info! It is really helpful!

So was she able to confirm that you would be getting Bar Higuey for your reception? Did you have to make a deposit on that to get the confirmation?

Also for the Tangerine package the reception gets "international bar." Does anyone know what that includes?  Is it just hard alcohol or does it include what we would call domestic beer?

And does anyone have the up to date food choices for the tangerine package reception? I would love to see it but am having a lot of trouble getting responses.

natalie,

This was the info I got for the international bar (I hope I formatted it correctly - it was written as one big paragraph):

Rum: gold, White, Brugal Añejo, Brugal Extra Viejo Vodka : Smirnoff Gin: Tanqueray Vermouth : Martini Rosso, Bianco, Semi dry  Whisky : J&B, Jhonnie Walker E. Red, Cutty Sark, Dewars Liquors: Apple, peach, almond,Tia Maria, Kaluha, Cointerau, Amaretto   The resort only serves Presidente beer.   Here is the menu I had for the reception - it may have changed since I received it.  It seems like you guys are getting much more info than I received when I was planning.
SALADS Tomato salad with goat cheese pesto dressing Cesar salad Capresse salad Curried marinated chicken and tomato salad   SOUPS Genovesse minestrone soup with garlic croutons Asparagus soup Chicken noodles soup Onion soup, parmesan cheese crostini   MAIN DISH Pesto marinated broiled chicken Pan seared fish medaillon, parmesan cheese risotto, asparagus and red bell peppper coulis Glazed pork chops in old mustard sauce Beef tendeirlon with potatos and vegetables Sirloin steak parisienne coffee with vegetables   DESSERTS Crema Brulée Luke warm half baked dark chocolate fondant Fruit cocktail with tequila and mint fruit jelly Black forest cake   VEGETARIAN MENU • Mixed greens, tequila margarita dressing • Asparagus soup • Grilled mediterranean vegetables with balsamic dressing (Red bell pepper, yellow bell pepper, mushrooms, zucchini and eggplant)   We went with the Caprese salad, the chicken, the beef tenderloin and the cream brulee as our menu.  They were all very good.  Hope some of this is still accurate - someone else might have more updated info.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
