DIY: Fabric Luggage tags. Photos and instructions.

Recommended Posts

Wanted to make our guests something unique and special. So I handcrafted fabric luggage tags with our wedding colors! Can't wait to mail these out with our pre-travel brochures in the next few weeks.

Should anyone want more details or instructions, just PM me.

So to make these: You need to cut two 3 1/2" x 5" pieces of fabric. Two pieces of heavy weight iron on interfacing (cut to fit), vinyl for the window (cut to fit) and one 2' x 12" piece of fabric for the strap.

Step one: Take the fabric for the strap (2" x12"), fold in half and iron. Open up and fold each side to the middle and press. (this just helps make it easier to keep the shape while sewing it). Then edge stitch down each side to create your strap.

Step two: Place fabric pieces, right sides together. Fold strap in half and place inside the fabric with cut edges sticking out 1/2". Pin together. Then using a 1/4" seam, stitch around 3 of the 4 edges (leave the side opposite where strap is sewn in open).

Step three: Unpin fabric, and turn right way out. Cut 2 pieces of the interfacing to fit inside. Slide interfacing in, allow about 1/4"-1/2" of fabric at the end. Then turn fabric ends inside and pin (see photo below). Now iron the luggage tag to harden the interfacing.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
