I made my own Passport Invites!  You can check them out here -- http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/63119/my-diy-passport-invites

I purchased Aylee's template for $10, and it was definitely totally worth it.  I ended up making 25 invites for less than $30.

Here is the link for the template -- http://www.ayleebits.com/2009/03/09/passport-invitation-template/ . She also offers a free one if you didn't want to pay.  and there are definitely other templates on the site, I just wanted something more professional looking with the passport background.

Good luck!! If you need help, let me know!!

I just made my own magnet STD's when we first decided when and where we were getting married.  I actually sent out my invitations about 10-12 months in advance with the booking information.  I'm not sending out an invitation like most do 2 months before.  I'll be sending out my AHR invites then.

Ok..that makes more sense to me, to send the inviations out so far in advance.  Our TA suggested we send STD's and basically ask if people are planning to come to let us know so we have a count of how many to set our group for (for flights mostly I'm guessing).  I was thinking at that point people are gonna want to know what the prices are before they commit!

Did you just guess on how many you thought would come?  Can you kind of explain how it worked with you TA...

Thanks SO much for all your help!!  You've been great!!

What I did was sent out the STD about 14 months out, to let people know we were having a Destination Wedding, and then sent out all of the booking information at around 11-12 months out.  We didn't do a group booking for airfare -- I have heard its really not that big of a discount anyway?  My TA just got a group contract created with the resort for room discounts and my guests are booking through her individually.  Does that make sense!?!?  I hope this helps a little?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
