tanning bed or spray tan?

I would go with the tanning beds.  My experience with spray tans has been weird streaks, rubbing off on clothes and that weird carrot orange color.  I am sure there are really awesome spray tans that look just like real tans, but they probably cost too much for normal people to get.  I know there is skin damage or cancer risks, but there is a price to pay for all beauty.  Just do it for your wedding and never tan again to make up for it.

I didn't realize spray tan came off that quick when you're swimming! And i never thought about it rubbing off on my dress yikes. I was going to do it because I dislike tanning beds and how bad they are for your health/skin. But it might have to be the tanning bed for me before my wedding, you're right there is definetly a price you have to pay for beauty!

Tanning beds are great if you want a good base before tanning.  If you plan to lay out, you should always have a good base. Tan lotions with carrot help give you a very nice color. I personally dont like anything that speeds the tanning bed process because you get an unnatural tan(almost weird looking). I love spray tans (if done correctly) because they give you a glow you cannot get from a tanning bed.  If you get a "Mystic Tan" you should scrub 1 day before you do so. Also, apply lotion to your elbows, knees, feet and hands so they do not get dark.  Make sure you are lifting your arms and moving in a circular motion so you dont get any streaks. When the session is over, wipe the excess "tan" off from your feet upwards with a towel. Wear loose clothing and do not wear any jewelery.  Do not shower until the next day because the "tan" keeps working.  If you are getting sprayed, the same apply...scrub and apply lotion to elbows, feet & knees. Your professional can mix colors to accent your abs, shoulders ect...A quick spray on your face is also nice because you get an all over glow. Make sure you do the same motions (circular motion) to ensure consistency and no streaks.  Wear loose clothing and no jewelery. Either choices are great because a tan always makes you look healthy and thinner. Everything in moderation :)

ME TOO! Except for I don't tan and get a lot of freckles and have pink sunburned skin. I was thinking of doing the St Tropez self tanning but I don't want to have it come off my dress. Does anyone have exeperience with that particular brand?

I thinking about a spray tan but have now nixed that idea.  I'd have to do it before I left town and they only last a few days so it could be completely gone by the wedding day.  My sister just told me about Tan Towels and I'm going to try that.  They're available at Ulta and one day she was in there some guys were raving about them.  She bought them and loves them.  I haven't been over there yet but that's my plan.  Of course I'm going to test it out before wedding weekend though.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
