St. Thomas photographers

I think this is kind of expensive. Our photography is inclueded in our package. Bluegrass Photography will be doing our pictures. The cost that you would pay just for the photography with Kelly is as almost as much as we are paying for our ceremony. That includes site fees, officiant, 1 hr videography, 1 hr photograpy, flower isle, bouqet & boutonniere. I would shop around more.

She doesn't have packages (that she supplied, anyways), and even though she takes a lot of photos, you pay $3 for each proof you want. She lives in St. Croix, so her travel fee to St. Thomas is $200 or $400 (can't remember off the top of my head).

And, if you want a CD of all the photos--- $2,500....

"Kind of expensive"? I totally agree, Yvette. And, personally, I think the pictures of a few photographers mentioned in this thread (Paradise Pictures and Blue Glass, I think?) are just as good if not better.

Yvette,

Right on! Very pricey to say the least!

Most wedding coordinators include the photography in their packages, so it shouldn't even be an added expense! There are a few people tho, that will choose their own photographer. In this case, the wedding coordinator is willing to work with you!

I just did a wedding on Sunday morning where this happened. The bride hired Eric Johnson seperately!

Hi Yvette,

I saw, within the BDW blogs that you used BG Photography for your wedding last year. If you do not mind, could you provide me with some feedback? I am getting married next May in St. John and trying to find a photographer and obtain some recommendations and feedback from this site. We are getting married in the church followed by pictures at Trunk Bay. We are having a very private and intimate wedding with just 4 people (including the two of us).

Any help you can provide is sincerely appreciated. Thank you very much.

I would suggest Eric Johnson (St. Thomas, St. John, Virgin Islands, Caribbean Wedding Photography by photographer Eric Johnson). He's the best. If you use Blue Glass be sure to get confirmation of who your photographer will be and ask see that photographers work, not just the company's general portofolio. You may think you're booking the owner but actually get some kid off the street who may never have shot a wedding before.

I was just married on Magen's Bay on November 10th. Kelly O'Brien Uszenski was my photographer. Her fee was included in my wedding package for 1 hour of photography and I paid for an additional hour for $550. I have ownership fo all or my digital photos. I am beyond amazed by Kelly's work and would HIGHLY recommend her. She was such a pleasure to work with and she truly captured the essence of my wedding. Each time I look at my photos I am taken back to the way I felt on that day.

@@MikkiStreak Did you book Gary Felton?

@@jean-marcus How much is a typical session in the islands when you book a photographer from the states? What do you typically require the bride to pay? Im assuming flights and a place to stay, but as far as misc. like food, transport (cabs), etc. Do you have a minimum length of days that you require a bride to book for you to do her photos?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
