Groom and Groomsmen's attire

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies,

I'm having trouble trying to decide (or have my Finance decide) on what to wear.  I've thrown out a ton of ideas and can't get an opinion for the life of me!  I was wanting to go with a light blue (almost white/blue) short sleeve button up short, casual, but nice with a good light material. I was then thinking of doing a grey (darker than lighter) pant with this.  However, I've got a bit of negative feedback on the grey.  Any opinions?  Also, has anyone seen any weddings with the groom in pants and the groomsmen in shorts?  I was thinking this could set him apart from the other guys, but not sure if this is too casual.  Lastly, where do you go to buy this?  I've been looking online, but haven't really found a good selection from any one company.  Please help!

Thanks, Kim

Hi Kim, were you looking to get linen shirts and shorts. If so you can check out http://www.guayaberashirt.com/shop/ they are located around the corner from my house and I know I've posted for other brides to use. They have linen shirts, shorts and pants in just about any color you can imagine, they even have linen dress and linen clothes for kids.

Is this sort of what you were envisioning....minus the color of the groom's suit?shorts.jpg

Hi Kim,

We are trying to decide too.  I have been looking at my photographer's website www.alecandt.com for ideas, and it's helped a lot.  You can see their blog posts which feature weddings they've done in Mexico.  It's great seeing how wedding parties in the past have coordinated, and which colors really seem to work.

I'm sure if you go to any destination wedding photographer's website mentioned on this forum, you'll get more great ideas for attire.   :)

Good luck,

Lisa

Hi,

I am having my FI wear Khaki pants and a white shirt. We are having an all white wedding so it helps =)

If you are in need of ideas check out the Del Sol wiki located on these boards. Each slideshow is of a different wedding. There are probably 70 weddings. I would pick out your favorite 5 clothed grooms and tell your groom to pic his favorite. It might help him to see photos. I know my FI can't invision wedding stuff.

My fiance is wearing a beige linen type material pant with a lime green but light in color shirt and a white blazer. The groomsmen are wearing beige shorts with white button down shirts. The girls dresses are multi colored, pink, orange, green etc therefore I am hoping it will all work together. I figured if I picked a color like green that ties in with my fiances shirt and the green in the girls dresses I could use it along with orange or pink for the guys boutineers.

I think your fiance in pants will look good next to you in a long wedding dress, dont forget about that part, that is if your dress is floor lenght?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
