March 2011 Brides!

Hi Ladies,

I didn't see a general thread for the brides who are getting married in March 2011. I hope that there are a few of us on this forum! I'll start.. I'm getting married at Beaches Turks & Caicos, and so far the planning is going fairly well. We're having a relatively small group (8-10) people, but I honestly love that!

So far I've gotten my dress (haven't had any alterations yet of course). I have FI's ring, we've purchased flights,  and paid the final balance on the wedding. Those are the major things. I've purchased several swimsuits and other items to wear while at the beach.

How's everyone else's planning going? We're 5 months away from March!

How is the planning going? Isn't it crazy that it's 5 months away? To be exact mine is 20 weeks---funny!

OMG when you put it in "weeks" I get nervous...lol...planning is good, I just finished some DIY stuff (placecards, matchbook covers) and am still back and forth with my wedding coordinator on food etc...one thing we're stuck on is we can't decide whether to bring my ipod docking station for the music or pay the ridiculous $300 to use the speakers there...arg.

That's interesting that you mentioned the music. I emailed a lady I met on Facebook who was married at our resort last month and asked her if they used their ipod or not. Have you started with your OOT bags? I've purchased the bags and actually purchased some lotion, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, etc. from JanineA (on the forum). I'll be working on the Passport Welcome Books soon, but I think that will be the last thing I do since I need so many small details from our guests.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
