Someone else posted the other day (I cannot remember who!), that rose petals were so expensive at their resort and when they asked their WC if they could use regular flower petals and the price, the WC said "Oh, those are included." So maybe you should check with your WC about that also. I already emailed mine last week, but haven't heard back from her yet...

I just got a reply from my WC. I can use silk petals & someone will clean them up. But, they might still blow in the lagoon if it's windy. So I'm going to buy real ones. It's $10 per bag. I just don't want to risk polluting the beautiful lagoon.

I wish i didn't spend $6.50 last night on silk petals, but I can just sprinkle them on the tables of my AHR.

My WC is awesome answering all my random questions. I just realized I can't wait to meet her & put a face to the emails.

Morgan, you are so lucky. Mine is a PITA. Although now that we are getting closer, she is more accommodationt o my questions, but sometimes I feel like she skirts around the question.

She answered my email and told me the price of rose petals in teh aisle, $150! Even though I asked for the pricing of rose petals, as well as other flower petals. She also told me there is a $100 fee for the sand ceremony and it includes vessels and sand. Even though my question stated, I have the vessels and sand, how much would it be to add a table setup? Ugh.

I"m glad you bought this up. I'm planning on using the silk petals because the hotel florist charges $40 bucks for 1 bag of petals!!! censored.gif I thought that was a bit much. And I'm thinking that I want a lot of petals along the aisle so I'm gonna need more than a few bags. So, I'm going to Michaels tonight to see the quality of their petals. I'm hoping they feel & look real enough to do the trick. I'll let you guys know how they look & feel.

I always send my questions really simple & get back short simple answers. I think these hotel WCs are really busy. So she will get emails like this from me occasionally:

"Can our guests throw rose petals at us after the ceremony?

Can I make my hair appointment in advance? I would like 1pm.

Is there a fee to bring in an outside photographer?

Does our ceremony music need to be on a CD?

Thanks, Morgan"

I have found with busy people who get tons of email it's easier to get all your answers if they are well spaced apart & simple. Might help you out. But, then it might just be your WC. I just feel silly that I have all these random questions for her. I surely can't be the worst bride she has ever seen though.

I was a little concerned when she said I will make my hair appoitment when I get there. What if the lady is busy that day? I guess they find me someone else then. When I asked her who does my hair, she gave me a name like there is one person.

OK, I'm getting off topic.

We used real rose petals, but we bought the roses from a florist wholesale and picked them ourselves. Granted, we had a florist at the wedding (my mom's b-friend), but it was waaaaay cheaper than buying just petals from the florist. More work, but may be worth it...

isn't the problem taking the flowers there? I have found cheap wholesale petals online, but you can't fly them to mexico. Did you get them wholesale in jamaica?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
