Iberostar Rose Hall Suites Trip

Recommended Posts

Hello Delgadot

It was very difficult arranging a date and time to even meet with Nicole because I wasn't getting a response back.

I just pretty much showed up at the resort at 11am and waited for her...I think the begining of the week is better since most weddings are toward the end. Once I got her on site she was very informative and accommodating.

I met with her at 1230 after having a tour of the hotel with someone from guest services and I was done by around 2p. Nicole pretty much starts to finalize your details a couple of months prior to your date.

Yes, I met with Jodi at Tai Flora and she was wonderful and I had been emailing with them prior. They sat with me and I got to chose what I wanted and they worked with my budget.

Well I considered Hummingbird Hall but it is like having your wedding at a house or villa. So, it just really depends on what you want. Once I saw Iberostar I was sold it is already beautiful so you dont need to do much. Hope this helps.

Good Luck

Hello Camilla

My wedding is March 2011..I didn't get to eat at either restaurant. But I am willing to pay to customize my menu (food is very important). I think Nicole will accommodate.  I prefer the Calabash's decor to any of the other restaurants but it depends on your decor. The steakhouse is open and you can decorate it however you want.

When is your wedding? Are you stressed?

Hi Miscka

I prefer the Calabash decor and it also works with my colours, cream, white and yellow, but I didn't like the menu, well I wouldn't mind it but i know the hubby and most of my guest wouldn't. I don't want the stakehouse because its outside, no a/c bugs etc.

Our wedding is 16th December, I'm not really stressed as I am forcing myself to chill out. I am very excited though. I'm sure everything will work out great but my dress hasn't arrived yet, so when it does I will be alot happier - is completely my fault i was very last minute in ordering! but I do have a back up dress! so no problem mon! lol

Thank you so much for the information. I actually liked the idea of having my wedding at a Jamaican house I thought it would make the wedding intimate and unique but I also think Ibersostar is a beautiful resort and so I just hope the site visit will confirm my venue! By the way are you using a travel agent for your wedding?

The Iberostar is definetly not disappointing at all. The food is fantastic no matter which restaurant you eat at. They even do a BBQ on the beach with a live steel drum band. The rooms come with a stocked mini-fridge (beer, soda, water). The room service is also free.

According to Nicole the new pricing will be coming out this month. All the resort fees are staying the same but the vendors will be going up slightly.

The rehersal dinner or welcome dinner is included. All you have to do is let her know the names of the guests attending & select the restaurant. The times are 6:30 & 8:30 for that.

Met with a DigiPix photographer & am still waiting for him to email me his portfolio. I have to say I'm not impressed with their work at all. I've been in touch with Sungold & Marcia Roberts Photography as alternatives. I think I'm using Marcia because her pricing is more resonable than Sungold.

I am having 60+ guests so I have to go with Aunt Ruby's for my reception. I had a chance to see how nicely it looks when its all decorated because there was a wedding going on there during my stay. They do large round tables of 8-10 ppl. If you are not happy with plain white tablecloths Tai Flora offers tablecloth rental in basically any color. Large round paper lanterns also look really nice with the whole beachy vibe.

As far as the DJ you just basically tell him either exactly what songs you want played or tell him what type of music you want. You can put certain songs like the first dance & father/daughter on an IPOD or CD & just play it from there.

Tai Flora has a website so you can familarize yourself with their style. Any flowers beside whats there have to be ordered & its starts to get really pricey. If there are certain colors you want in your tropical arrangement they definelty work with you. I am buying different types of ribbon to wrap around the bridesmaids bouquets so everyone has a personalized one.

There is a small casino there with slot machines, a game room with TVs pool tables, etc., a cigar bar, and a gorgeous spa. You can use the hot tubs and saunas there even if you don't get a spa service (which was one of the highlights of my stay). At night there is a show on the beach with dancing & fire-breathers.

The place is brand new. The people there are exceptionally nice & accomodating. Its completely "island time" there...which is why I think responses take so long. If I can answer any other questions just let me know :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
