I just posted about this on the AHR board. We had 28 people at a long table and I did not assign seats.  It was working out okay until my dad decided he wanted his friends to sit next to him and the way other people already sat didn't leave room for one couple.  I needed to ask everyone on one side of the table to move down.  In the end, it wasn't a big deal and no one really minded moving but I probably would have assigned seats if I had to do it again to avoid any issues.

I'm having two long king tables and will probably assign seats. To avoid people walking around the table looking for their names I was thinking of still doing escort cards and assigning each seat a number.  Still just a thought at this point but I think this way will keep things smooth.

I think its probably best to assign seating...then noone is going to argue over where they are sitting because they will know that is where you want them to sit! I think it just leaves one less thing for you to deal with at the last minute!

I def agree about assigned seats... people have a tendency to sit one chair apart if they don't know the person and you end up with single chairs (like what happened to L&J). It's not a big deal to ask them to move, but just avoid the situation to make it easy on you :) And making the seat numbers in Spanish would be so cute!

I just worked on a wedding similar in size and set up to yours and the bride used signature drinks with personalized umbrellas as escort cards. She had an entry table with the drinks all arranged and then each umbrella had the guest name and seat number. Then she tied a coordinating wine glass tag with each seat number on the glasses at each seat. Hopefully she will send me some pics that I can share.

I was going to have everyone just sit where they wanted, but reading this i think it is far better assigning seats. I don't want the confusion and awkwardness. Plus I get to have who I want nearest to me cheer2.gif

Should there then be a seating plan? I'm having 35 guests, it may be a bit of a mess if everyone is walking around looking for their name too? huh.gif

Thanks girls

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
