to wear or not to wear...the ring

Recommended Posts

Is anyone worried about their wedding rings being stolen from the room safe before the wedding?

I've been reading a lot of reviews on trip advisor of different hotels and "missing" items from room safes seem to happen at a lot of different places.  That's kind of freaking me out.

I don't take off my e-ring, but my band, I didn't really want to wear until the ceremony....and that's going to be 3 days after we land.

Not sure what other brides have done.  Advise appreciated :)

that's a good point- i didn't think about the fact that I'm not actually wearing the wedding band on the way there.  I think the safe in the room is pretty safe...I just heard things about being hassled if the jewelry is in your carry on on the way there...hmmm

Also, when my hubby was questioned about the rings in his bag at the airport, as soon as he explained we were getting married, everyone was great, trying to be careful with them when his bag was searched. And the female officers were all gushy, wanting to see my E-ring and congratulating us. It was cute, and totally no problem.

I've been wondering about this topic myself. I think we'll wear the rings when we're heading to MX and just give them to our respective holders the day of. My hotel has some reviews for staff dipping into the safes, so I'd rather not try that. I'm also considering having the hotel manager hold the rings in their safe for us. Plan A, for the Type A person I am is leaning toward wearing the rings up until the wedding. Plan B is to have the hotel manager keep it. We'll see!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
