Wendy's Planning Journal Iberostar Rose Hall Suites Wedding

Recommended Posts

Thank you for all the info. You are amazing at getting back to peoples questions even after your wedding and you don't even need to be on here. Really appreciate it, thanks again x

We brought the pink chair bows (so did Jenn).  Iberostar has white, silver and maybe gold.  I had planned to use theirs but our chair bows arrived for our AHR before we left so we took a package.  The flower decorated huppa was not my wedding but they were fresh flowers.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Wow GOOD JOB with making the invites yourself! Now you have me second guessing getting mine made professionally and perhaps trying them myself as well!

Mark and I were engaged over a year ago.  I thought he was joking when he proposed.  We have both been married before and I vowed never to do it again.  Then one evening while getting ready to go out he drops a ring box in my hand and just stares at me;  I didnâ€t know whether to laugh, cry or jump for joy.  I guess the answer is obvious now but at the time he wasnâ€t sure.  I did say yes after a few minutes of staring at it.  All this happened in our bathroom.

After a long decision (and some family drama) we decided on a destination wedding in Jamaica at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites.   We took 7 people with us, during our week there we had a 5 yr anniversary, a 10 year anniversary and a 1 year divorcary.  My brother did not travel with us as he wouldnâ€t fly but his fiancé and his daughter were there to represent him.  We all had a blast and I can't imagine not doing a DW!!!  I have ZERO regrets about this decision.

We sent out save the date luggage tags, below is the thread with them (I can't find a pic to post here but its in the link):

For our invites, we decided to do boarding pass invites.  I know they are commonplace here but no one we sent them to had ever seen them.  Once again, thanks to the ladies here for the template… it saved many arguments with my new husband.  My mom and my brotherâ€s FI helped me cut and assemble them one day which was a life saver.  I only sent out about 25 invites, canâ€t imagine making them for lots of people.  Below is the link to the invites:

We used vistaprint for our AHR invites (we sent to people who didnâ€t get wedding invites).  Thatâ€s next weekend so Iâ€ll let you know how that goes later.

Island girl--give it a shot, but plan for some tedious cutting/corner cutting, and editing.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
