Craziness!! How exciting for you both! I guess if I can make a decision by Feb at the latest HOPEFULLY all should be good... I am also looking at other options though... but if you guys can keep updating how the plans are going it would be really great :)  It seems so hard to actually choose a resort and make a decision... how is a girls to know which one to choose??

Hi Sarah, I know exactly where your at... that was me two months ago! The hardest decision is what resort to choose. I almost hired a destination wedding planner because I thought they could narrow down my search. I also went on the web and researched each and every 5* resort in Cancun, DR, Bahamas and I read everyones feedback on trip advisor plus looked at every picture I could find. Sooooo after all that I found this website and my first question was "has anyone hired Luxe Destination Wedding Planners" I received enough feedback to convince me that I didn't need to go that route. After reading the forum on here about The Royal Playa Del Carmen I knew this was the resort for our wedding! Now were booked and I can finally relax and look forward to the planning.

I guess we all have a vision of what we want for our weddings, I'm sure you will find the perfect place! Best of luck:)

Debbie-- I can totally relate to you!!

Once we decided we wanted a destination wedding my crazy research self went nuts and I read SO much about so many places.  Luckily we were pretty set on Mexico from the start but this site has been a HUGE help.

I also debated a million times (still do) about the decision to hire a wedding planner.  At this point though we've gotten so much done ourselves (and pretty well I think :)) that I think we're going to forgo one.

Best of luck to you on your search Sarah!!!

This thread got pretty dead so just checking in with my fellow Nov 2011 Royal brides-- how goes planning ladies?

The one thing that's still on my plate is photographer.....I'm having commitment issues!  Anyone booked theirs yet?  Have a good tip?  GAWD doesn't that outside vendor fee suck?!

You do not have to have a DJ to get the light-up dance floor. You can rent it alone.

I ended up posted my question on another fourm and Jesmcan replied. Thanks again Jesmcan!

Anyway I wanted to post it here for you in case you missed it.

welcome!

1. Yes that is correct $200 for 5 pieces, it s rented through the resort, they have their own vendor they work with. Some girls have used outside vendors from Cancun but than you get hit with the $350 outside vendor fee.

2. The light up dance floor is not included, but you can rent it for an additional cost with the DJ.

3.That is exactly what it means and its the additional cost per guest at the royal or gran porto and than its even more for non resort guests.

I was exactly where you are now one year ago. It flys by, I can't believe its only three weeks away. Enjoy every moment.

Congrats! You will love the Gazebo - it's an amazing place for a wedding! I also had a beach recpetion and WOW - it was the best decision. The light-up dance floor is amazing on the beach and definately worth the $$$.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
