Want to get married at The Royal in PDC... Have NO IDEA where to start.. Help??

Recommended Posts

My fiance & I just got engaged on Sept.3 and I am interested in a destination wedding. We visited The Royal in Playa Del Carmen this past summer & fell in love with it.  We would love to get married there but I have a MILLION questions & don't know where to start.  Would love to know how expensive the whole thing is (I was looking at the luxury package), up to how many guests can we have (I have a 400 person guestlist... obviously not all will be attending), are children allowed the day of the wedding..... My list goes on..  I saw lots of people talking about Zulma.. one of the wedding planners.  Can I contact her directly??? Please help!! :-)

Hello Giova23,

Congratulations on your engagement, Planning a wedding from the distance can be very stressfull but you will find that this wonderful forum will help you in any matter. I have worked several times at the Royal and let me tell you that it's true that the place is wonderful, the wedding planners are very efficient and there are many spots for good pictures =)

The Royal group owns two hotels one next to the other, The Porto Real which is a few steps away is allowed to have children, I've seen that sometimes weddings are celebrated in the royal and then the reception at the porto or viceversa. Check with the wedding planners, I'm sure they will be happy to help you. Weddings are a very important thing for hotels so I have no doubts everybody who is in the business down here will treat you like a queen and will try to satisfy all your needs if possible.

Let us know if there's something we can help you with since we have an office located a few blocks away !!  =)

Feel free to check our galleries to find previous weddings done at the Royal.

Have a fun wedding planning hope to read you soon.

I'm getting married at The Royal PDC on July 23, 2011!!!  I went to their website and clicked on the wedding link and it helps you start the whole process.  First you choose the hotel in the left upper corner and then you can chose your package from there.  After you choose and submit your inquiry, a wedding coordinator will contact you via email with the information you need to plan you wedding.  I'm working with Elsa and she's amazing.  I email her 5 or 6 times a week and she always gets right back to me.  They have a wedding basecamp online that you can log into and plan your special day!  Btw, we chose the Luxury Wedding package too and it's $3800.

Good luck!

All great suggestions...and you've already got off to a great start by asking the questions and kind of having an idea of what you are looking for.  you can always e-mail them or call directly with your questions.

Personal wedding planners can also help you get a feel for the area and your options.

With a large guest list you want to make sure that with the all inclusive hotel you have all the costs very clear.  The extras can sneak up on you, especially if your guests do not stay at the resort where the wedding is being held.

Congratulations and enjoy it!! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
