I have another question...For the girls who are using outside vendors (like Planner 1 Events or Tropical Wedding Experts) - are you using them to do the table set-ups and ceremony set-ups, as well as the decorations and stuff, or are you using them in addition to the La Amada standard ceremony, cocktail hour and reception set-ups?

I am eagerly waiting for Ileana's response so that i can go ahead and confirm my date with her!!!!!!

Congrats!!  Luckily now you have lots of time to plan :)

In response to your prior question, I'm using Gabi at Planner 1 to do the decor, table setting, lighting etc.  While Ileana has some inexpensive options, I was a little concerned about the execution (and thats the last thing I want to be worried about on my wedding day).  Email Gabi and get info from her, you'll be happy I promise!

Hi there!

We are using a travel agent to help us with the group booking rate - to be honest, the hotel will do nothing unless you have a travel agent. The rates we secured are better than what's advertised on the site, but they are not heavily discounting. I would work with a travel agency, for sure.

Hello Ladies,

My fiance and I just got engaged on 10/10/10, and we're getting married at La Amada on Arpil 17th, 2011!  We're currently in the process of negotiating a group room rate.  I've never been to this hotel, but I've read great things by both brides-to-be on this site who have visited La Amada and also on Trip Advisor.  I think it sounds perfect for a wedding!!!

I plan on using Ileana as my sole wedding coordinator and using La Amada for flowers, chairs and tables, etc.  It sounds like they're really flexible on bringing your own decorations, so I think I'm going to bring my own table centerpieces and ribbons for the ailse chairs (have family help bring it all down).  We're planning on having up to 100 guests, but it's too early to tell for sure who's coming at this point.

I would love to hear more about what you think of the space when you visit and any thoughts you may have to advise me.  We're planning this wedding in 5 months from far away with maybe one site visit in January or February, so any help would be greatly appreciated as far as what spots you think would be best for the dinner reception, for a band, etc.

Best of luck to all of you!

Carla

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
