Any Iberostar del Mar Brides?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am getting married at the del Mar on 1-15-2011!!!!!! So excited! I was wondering if anyone had any advice/tips to share? I am working with Karla and she has been very nice. We are renting the private restaurant and I was wondering what menu's people picked? Also, how did your flowers work out? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hi there!  I am getting married one week later on January 22, 2001 at the del mar, also renting the private reception, and also from Chicago I might add! FI and I get to the resort on Sun the 16th, I'll just miss your wedding!

How is your planning getting along?? I feel like I thoguht I had everything planned, but recently I am realizing I have like a thousand small projects to do!

We are offering guests three options:  the tenderloin, salmon, or a vegetarian option which is cannelloni stuffed with eggplant and ricotta.  (since a few guests, groom included, are veg!)

Are you adding any hor hors d'oevres for your cocktail hour? It costs extra but we wanted to add them and a dessert table since this is our big to-do, no AHR!

What menu options did you choose?

Where are you having your rehearsal dinner?  Are you doing the welcome cocktail reception included in the Dream package.  if so, where? Are you planning any group activities/excursions or welcome dinner/cocktails?

We are doing a golf outting for the guys on Fri morning and we are letting people know that we will be doing the Xcaret excursion on Thurs if theyd like to join us.

I was toying with the idea of doing a night out in Playa del Carmen, just because it might be nice to go to a nice dinner one night, maybe for our rehearsal dinner.  There's a really cool restaurant I had my eye on called Ajua Maya.  The waiters dance and they set the food on fire, sounds really fun!  But that could get very expensive, so we may just do our rehearsal at the Japanese at the resort!

PS:  there is a 2011 Iberostar Weddings thread if you havent already found it.

Hi! I'm getting married at Beach on April 6th 2011 and it is the same restaurant for both resorts. Quick question for you... how are you giving your guests an option on the food? I was under the impression that we had to pick one menu and everyone had to have the same thing... Any info you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

Here's what Karla said:

Please remember that in order to follow two different main entree options, you will need to provide me:

  • Closer to the wedding, a final count of how many of each plate will be served
  • Upon arrival:
  • Seating chart
  • Place cards with names and menu choice of each guest

So in your invitation, you'll have to put Entree Selection:  Guest name__________________ Steak_____Salmon____

so that you'll know which guest wants what.

Hope that helps.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
