daily activities for guests?!

I will definitely plan a welcome cocktail, I think that is a nice touch! I would like to plan a couple of optional excursions. Question-do most people have guests pay for these excursions or pay for them?

I hope to be able to pay for 1 excursion for guests, but that will depend on the number of people that come to the wedding.  If the guest count is too large, then I will likely pay for family and then maybe try to subsidize the price for others so it is more affordable.

I will try and have that (hopefully) prepaid excursion the day before the wedding and then have an optional one a couple days after the wedding.  For that one, I will just let people know that the bride and groom are going to do xyz in case you would like to join.  Possibly just instruct guests to contact the excursion desk at the hotel if they are interested.

There are good ideas already. I agree with a welcome cockel. And a small booklet with ideas and suggestions for excursions for the day after the wedding. a nice touch.

Sunday usually is for trashing the dress, so it is good idea to give them something to do.

greetings!

We are getting married on a cruise and all our guests should be arriving in port the day before the cruise. We will have a welcome dinner but probably something simple like beer/wine and pizza since most will have driven 5 hrs to be in port and then we have to be at the ship by 10am all together for the wedding that day. we will have a cocktail reception right after the ceremony, but after that I think we are leaving the rest of the cruise to our guests. We just got back from a couple of destination weddings. One at Dreams Riviera cancun and they had a welcome beach party bbq with dj and everything..it was a blast, then the wedding was the next day followed by a reception. Most of us got in a few days before the wedding but I think the bride and groom were trying so hard to coordinate group things and it turned into more work than a vacation. It was hard for her and I know she wanted everyone to have dinner together but there were like 20 of us at times and it was difficult. We didn't really get a break to do our own thing. The other wedding we went to was in vegas and that was nice. We all met up at Freemont street the night before the wedding to just hang out and have some fun since some had kids with them, including us. But it wasn't organized ahead of time..it was decided that day. Then we went to the wedding the next day with a dinner following and then everyone was on there own. They told people where they would be which was in a casino and those who wanted to hang out could just meet them there...and everyone was at ease.

I wouldn't plan too much. People want time to relax and have a vacation.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
