Hurrican Dean- Jamaica & Cancun Brides- lets keep our fingers crossed

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know anything about Cubahuh.gif I see a couple things like a tropical storm might hit them, and that its not the area we are going to, Holguin, but I can't really find much and that is making me a little nervous. Please tell me if you see anything at all.

Thanks yall.

Plan B is looking more and more like the way we're going to end up going. *sigh*

I can't sleep at night and just spend my time alternating between crying and being numb.

Trista....as much as this sucks....it makes me feel a tiny bit better to know that there's someone else dealing with this with me.

Well, things are definitely not good ... but we are still all over that other thread ... and reasy to help in any way we can. Things have a way of working out ... so I am trying to stay positive for you both, Nadine and Trista, and any other BDW gals who could be facing similar problems in the weeks ahead...

Nadine..

Lets keep our fingers crossed for today..YIKES the problem now is that Dean is 60 miles wide and Jamaica is 80 miles wide so not much will escape Dean...

I feel the same, I feel as if my dream of getting married on the island have been crushed but before I go cancelling and making concrete alternative plans, I am waiting for today to happen and assess the damage..

No I have not heard anything about Cuba, sorry..I guess my focus has been more on Jamaica at this point..Should I hear anything, I will keep you posted~

Fingers are definietly crossed!!! Toes too!

We're also trying to remain really flexible and just see what happens. I've lost about 80% hope....but there's still some hope left in me.

Nadine:

I am on hold right now as we speak waiting to speak to a representative to completely cancel our trip before it gets too busy...I am so bummed right now..We watched a news forecast and its concrete to me that we will not be going, the hit that is about to take place is worse than anything in 2 decades, so we certainly do not want to go while the city is flooded and so forth..I don't even think we would be able to get a flight, even if we wanted to..

So with this sad news, I am now officially trying to close things up and try to have my money returned...I have no idea where or when we will go..I am so sad right now..

I feel like I am jinxed (not sure of spelling), we had a major flood 3 weeks ago in our home, then last night my computer died, (more money) and this HUGE cancellation..I am really sad right now..

Thanks girls for all your efforts, its so appreciated..

Nadine: what is your plan "B"?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
