Yeah, very pricey. I really want to do it but we have already decided I am going to do a pin up shoot for a particular milestone birthday shortly after the wedding... I cannot justify BD pics and the pinup shoot, so I will be DIYing the pics and ordering a photobook online.

I know I have seen some brides on this forum who have; if you search for it you should be able to find some. I also googled some tips, so that might help too. I hop mine turns out.... I won't be doing it for a while yet, but I have been creating a folder with some ideas for poses and stuff.

Yea its very hard to justify the price.  How can it cost so much to take a damn picture and give it to me?

My issue is that my mom is a photographer but doesn't do anything like this type of photography....no studio, back drop, props, lighting, etc.  So I could take countless pics for free but they wouldn't look anything like what I would get from a pro.  She took our engagement pics and I was not happy with most of them. :(  Had to let her know that this really isn't the right type of photos for her.  She does amazing sunset, floral, nature pics....just not very good with people.

              Decisions decisions....

Wow so a BD shoot seems to be the top gift!  I'm thinking my FI would looooooooooooooooove it!  I haven't looked into the pricing yet.  What are the typical quotes you're receiving?

Also how did you ladies manage to do it without him knowing?  Can you get them done outside of your house?

I bet if you looked up online in your area for BD photographers you will find that they have studios to go to... I am really considering renting a few hotel rooms throughout the next year and a half and having my MOH take the shots!!

I paid 75$ to my photographer and 170 for studio for 3 hours. That was the most cost efficient way. Once I will get my pictures I will order an album. My FI had a glimpse of one of my pics today and was bugging for me to show it. I asked him to leave it alone... LOL But I think now he knows...

I was able to find one for $225... that is the cheapest one that I still liked that I found, but still cannot justify it. So I am learning to DIY. I was needing a tripod anyway...
