Wedding Present for your Husband-To-Be

Recommended Posts

Yeah, for sure lol. I'm getting my best friend of 10 years and her sister who's into photography to do it. Makes it not as nerve racking since we've all been such good friends for so long but drinks will still be a must! I'm so nervous about looking like a dork. My guys going out of town for work this week so I think we're gonna do a test run and see how it turns out. So excited but nervous at the same time! I'll let you know how it turns out!

Neither of us are into boudoir photos so I am not giving him that.  I had thought of a watch but to be honest what I would like to get him and my budget do not match up! So I have been thinking of either getting him a guitar (he likes to play and LOVES music, but would never buy one for himself) or a piece of art - like an original painting of something that has meaning for us, for example something from Australia where cause we lived there 4 years.

Anyway, just thought I would throw the ideas out there for those that don't want to do the pictures or were looking for something different.

For those of you who have or are planning to do the boudoir album, how did you (or how are you planning to) present it to your groom?  I've seen where typically the wedding day gifts are given to someone who acts like a messenger.  Since this is something very personal I would be concerned that he's getting ready in a room with his friends and this isn't something I would want him opening in front of them.

KCDawn, are you bringing a photographer with you to photograph your wedding?  If so, I'd use them.

When I deliver BD books that's how it works.  That way I also get to capture his awesome reaction to the present!  So usually I will go over there right before he starts getting ready.  I'll pull him out on the balcony by himself and shut the drapes.  That way nobody can see him or hear his reactions.  I just say that I need some portraits.  Then i will hand him the book and take pictures.  It's super fun!

If you sign up for living social they had several deals(in my area) for under $100 for the last two weeks, esp since Valentine's day is coming soon. I was thinking about getting him an ipad, since He's been asking for one for a while. I would get him a watch but he doesn't wear them and i would get frustrated everytime he looked at his phone instead of the nice watch I gave him.. lol

Everybody seems to be going for the BD photos...but im not convinced. Frankly if i wanted to give him sexy photos of me...i think he'd find it way more fun taking them himself! and yes i know...they wouldnt be professional hahaha. and i 100% agree that if i ever did it, it would have to be a female photographer. he'd hate a male one too!!

so i thought - if i can swing it in the budget...theres a company called exotic cars in cancun that let you drive cars like a lamborghini or ferrari around a race track. my fiance is more of an adrenaline experience than a gift person...and hes obsessed with cars - loves car shows like top gear, and if he sees a snazzy car on the street will take pictures of it with his camera. i have no idea why...for me a car is a car and gets you from A to B and who cares what it looks like or how fast it goes hahaha. Given that WPGbride said boudoir photos were like 600 dollars...this is (slightly) less expensive and i think he'll like it more

i thought he could do it a day or two before the wedding! I also thought of skydiving, but given i cant check safety records/standards of the companies...i want him to survive until our wedding day haha (and after obviously)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
